As my words reached him, his eyes were filled with a shade of blue and grey. I knew what those eyes meant; I knew that the goodbye was near. Autumn never felt so sad before.
"I don't know if I'm to grieve for this ending or rejoice for the new beginning it brings." He sighed with his eyes fixed on the sky above.
"Don't be sad. The rain is quite a hassle in this season" I forced a smile across my teary eyes, as I approached to sit next to him.
"Had it been for me to approach you seasons after seasons I would have done it over and over again. But to never see you.." his voice was shaking "I found a home in you."
I felt a lump in my throat as I spoke, "Thank you never leaving me alone. For showing yourself up before me time and time again. For making my seasons colourful. For the laughter filled spring, the brightest summer sky, and the warm autumn love, thank you."
Suddenly with his face landing few centimetres away from mine, he wrapped me in his arms; an embrace as warm as the autumn sun.
"Goodbye" he whispered, as his arms slowly loosened and his touch faded.. Without catching a second glimpse, he vanished into thin air and his sweater fell lifeless among the fallen leaves of the autumn fall.
