"You want me to step aside?" She scoffed. "You clearly don't know who you stand before, girl." She responded before looking back at her phone.
Raising a speculative eyebrow at the sudden attitude, Allison suddenly took a dislike for the lady, whosoever she may be. The lady before her didn't only sound rude but felt superior.
Before she could retort back, a honk of a luxurious black car blared and the back sit door remotely opened. The lady sashayed to the car, held the door, turned glaring at Allison. She then readjusted her shades and stepped in, closing the door just as the car drove away.
"This town will never seize to surprise me," she said, before walking in.
She got in the line, awaiting to order. She kept peeping at the employees behind the counter to spot if Bryan was a mist them but he proved absent, even after she got her orders. She wanted to at least talk to Bryan or possibly ask who the rude lady was - that's to say if she actually came in. Her inquisitive nature was one of her strong suite hence it aided in clarification.
With a firm grip on the cup of coffee and her brown handbag looped on her arm, Allison made it back to the company. Diligently, she dropped her bag on her workspace, going straight to her boss's office. Turning on the light switch, the room illuminated, coming to life and she beamed with joy. With her organizing skills coming in handy, she brought the files on Miss May's office to order with precision after which she placed the coffee on it, shoved few books in the shelf behind the desk by the wall, in its alphabetical order, slide open the balcony glass doors which instantly brought fresh air inside the office.
Before Allison left, she approached the mini bar mounted with dozens of wine and champagne . As if branding their names in her mind wasn't enough, She took it upon herself to reach out to one of the bottles to examine. So lost, she didn't notice the steady but soundless footsteps on the tiles marching toward her. Then the figure stopped behind her.
"Can I pour you a glass or two?"
A yelp escaped Allison's mouth. It was so sudden and unexpected so the bottle of wine slipped from her hand and crashed on the floor, coating the tiles with bright red wine.
Allison froze. She kept looking at the floor, petrified. "What have I done?" She muttered, while clutching her fists together. Realization dawn on her so she slowly turned to face the unknown, in fear of it being Miss May.
"You. Look what you have done!" She spat in an irritable manner.
"Hey now. It's ok, calm down Silver." Ryan responded in an effort to soothe her of her vexation. "I really didn't mean to scare you."
"What? Calm down?" She bubbled in anger "What were you thinking, jumping me like that?"
"Did not." He defended himself.
"Did too."
"Are you hurt in anyway?" He asked with concern, ignoring her tantrum.
Allison quickly checked herself, inspect of injury or any glass piercing her skin. "I think not." She was lucky enough to escape wounds.
"That's a relief."
"Yeah but what..."
"I can replace it."
"Really?" Her eyes popped at the unexpected offer.
"Yeah. I mean I take partial responsibility to this. So... yeah," he said, ruffling his copper hair.
"You are willing to replace that exact bottle of wine?" She queried hurriedly, pointing at the shattered bottle.
"Of course, but it would come with a price," he said with a grin.
"Really?" A frown plastered on her face as she folded her arms. "And what would that be?"
"Like I said I can, if only you agree to go on a date with me."
"What?"
"I said you..."
"Shush," she raised her finger to silent him. "I heard you the first time. It's just...surprising! Why? You don't like me! Hold on. What's the catch here? Because your brother, you know your TWIN you forgot to mention about already asked me out on a date. I accepted." She responded with a glare.
It turned out that days after Allison met Bryan, after the confusion and clarification, Bryan called her one night and they caught up about their day at work. Before she could say goodnight, Bryan had immediately asked if she would be free Friday evening for the date. And because Antonia had relentlessly talked her into agreeing, saying - she could be her ticket to free food after snatching her crush, because it was the least she owe her. So she didn't hesitate in giving him a positive answer. Pleased, Bryan gave her the time he would come around and that was the last she heard from him ever since.
"Why am I not surprised," he said straight off.
"Look, I already know you don't like me plus you have a girlfriend, so what's your deal anyways?" Curiosity loomed in her voice.
"Who says I don't like you?" A smirk appeared on his sculptured face.
"He's not only different from Bryan. He's bold and too forward in requests. Arrogant much?"
Then he walked up to the couch, sat slowly, crossed his legs and started tapping his fingers on it.
"And I never take no for an answer."
"Arrogant much," she murmured, as well rolling her eyes.
"It's either you agree or get ready to spend a hundred thousand dollars on the piece of wine, Sliver."
She gasped. Of course she knew it was expensive, but not that much. Knowing she can't afford the luxury at all.
"Can't you tell Miss May it slipped from your hands?"
"No."
"Please."
"Best you accept the offer while it's still available."
With one heavy sigh, she nodded her head in acceptance.
Satisfied, he stood up swiftly.
He walked to her and trailed a single finger on her exposed shoulder. Within those few seconds, Allison felt it all. It felt like a bolt of light electric jolted through her body, offering her a tingling sensation. Involuntarily she jolted away from him.
"Easy there. I don't bite." He chuckled.
Allison's eyes flickered to Ryan. For a fact that touch was familiar, the tingling feeling was one solid proof.
Not again! Please Lord.
