3rd Person PoV
The boys stood along the railing, watching the evening band perform.
Michael ported then instantly, storming up to them. He tore Marko away from the railing and grabbed David by the lapels. Paul, Dwayne, and Marko were on him instantly, pulling the halfling back, ready to pry him off, but David held up a hand—halting them.
"Where is she?" Michael growled.
"Hey, take it easy." David blew a steady stream of smoke in his face, smirking. "You've got to be more specific, Michael."
"Where's Star, David?"
David couldn't deny his shock. His sister had been missing for nearly four days, but all he cared about was some other girl. But he doesn't show it. Instead, he laughs.
"Stop laughing," Michael growls, shaking him. "Tell me where she is, or I swear..."
"Swear all you like. I thought you would be a little more concerned about your baby sister. She's been gone for a while, hasn't she? Poor mom must be worried sick."
Michael's brain short-circuited. The boys could physically see him pale, his eyes going wide as he processed David's words. When it seemed to finally click, he was feral.
"What have you done? Do you have my sister, you motherfucker—!" He prepared to deliver another punch, but Dwayne caught it mid-air.
"Michael—if you ever wanna see her again, you'll come with me."
Michael reluctantly follows behind them to their bikes. Much to his surprise and dismay, Rowan there, leaning against one of the bikes.
Her eyes lit up the moment you saw him. Michael's stomach dropped. The two of them broke into a sprint, meeting halfway in a bone-crushing hug.
Seeing Michael again made it all real to Rowan. Everything the boys said—Michael being half, the thought of having her family forever. Even though he was the literal worst at times, he was her brother, and she couldn't bear to lose him.
He pulls back, hands holding her by the shoulder as he looked her over. "Don't you ever do that again? I thought you were dead! Mom went to the police and filed a missing person, and Sammy's been losing his mind, and Grandpa—"
"Calm down." She squeeze his arm reassuringly. "Nothing ..." she trails off. It doesn't seem right to say nothing happened. "I'm fine. I'm okay, really. I'm sorry I worried you. I wasn't thinking."
"I'd kick your ass, but I'm too relieved," he says.
"You can try."
He makes a face, and she flick him in the forehead.
"Rowan." David calls. She'd almost forgotten he was there in the first place. "It's time to go."
She steps back, eyes darting to Michael once, then nodded. She climbs on the back of Dwayne's bike. (While a part of her was still mad at him and the other boys, she had no desire to ride with Michael. Never again.)
Michael's expression shifts into something like disgust. He regards David coldly, and for a moment, she thinks he might punch him. "What have you done to her?"
David rolls his eyes. "Get on your bike, Michael."
