Friday, 2:15 a.m.

I wake up with a crazy, throbbing headache. Holy shit. I sit up in my bed, rubbing my eyes. I look around, realizing it's very dark. How long has he been doing this? I look on my nightstand and sigh as I see the time. 2:15 a.m.

My father, Lonnie, has been partying, drinking, and smoking with his friends downstairs for the past 4 hours. The last thing I remember, I was sleeping on the couch and when they came in, Lonnie made sure I stayed in my room.

I could smell the alcohol and weed all the way up here with the house being so small. And the music was so loud that I kept waking up, not getting much sleep.

2:30 am

I manage to get out of bed. Feeling the sudden urge to pee, I left my room and enter the tiny bathroom on the side. I flicked on the light switch and walked in. I flip up the toilet seat, undid the drawstring on my shorts and did my business. I flushed then went to wash my hands.

As my hands were under the warm water, I slowly gaze up at the designs on my bracelet. Dark blue, light blue, and pink with a tiny silver bead separating the 3 colors. Matching with my Boyfriend, Mike, which he gave me as a gift on my 14th birthday, March 22nd. With that thought it makes me give off a soft smile, noticing my cheeks slowly turning a light shade of pink.

Soon after, I left the bathroom and went back in my room, taking a seat on the edge of my bed. By this time the music had stopped but my head was still hurting like crazy. I really needed some water. I didnt know what Lonnie would say if I went downstairs. If he would get mad. But I was getting really dizzy.

I walk out of my room and head down the stairs. I walk through the small hallway and frown in disgust. There was bottles and trash everywhere. Everyone looked drunk, some people even passed out on the floor. I look around and I met Lonnie's gaze.

"Hold on a sec." Lonnie whispered to them as he approached me, getting real close. "Will, what did I tell you about coming back down here?!" He says, raising his voice as he put a beer down. His eyes were bloodshot red, and all I could smell was alcohol on his breath. My heart sank. "I-I just wanted to get some water." I said, stammering on my words. I didn't want to upset him or make things worse."I don't care, I told you to stay in your room!"

I quickly make my way to the kitchen filling up a glass of water. Without looking back, I walk pass him, up the stairs shutting my room door.

I take a seat on my bed, letting out a sigh. Why does he have to be so mean? I mean he's always been like this, but it's gotten way worse. It's been this way since mom died. Now he has something to blame me for. Even though it was something I couldn't control.

My brother, Jonathan, he tries his best to protect me even though he's been through so much. He always puts me over himself and I try to think of ways to repay him but it's never enough. I reach over and open my drawer pulling out a bottle of Advil. I pop 2 in my mouth and drink the water, hoping it'll help.

I thought about Mike again. I really missed him. I wanted to talk to him but through text because If I called him it would make noise, and I didn't wanna risk anything. But the problem was I didn't have a phone anymore. The last one I had Lonnie took it from me. He told me that I didn't need a phone and replaced it with the wired one that was attached to my nightstand which only took calls. I sigh. I never understood why though.

Without any other option, I reach over to call mike hoping he'd answer. I just had to be really quiet.

Friday, 3:10 am

I wake up by a sudden noise. After a few seconds I realize it's my phone. I sit up, turning on the lamp on my nightstand. I feel around my bed for it and pull it out under the sheets. It was a call from Will. I let off a soft smile answering it.

"Hey mike, still up?" He whispered, his voice slightly raspy. I wonder why he'd call me this late. "Hey baby, I'm up. Whats wrong?" I reply. "Thank god your up. I can't sleep, Mike."

Aw, I feel bad. "I'm so sorry, Will. Hopefully you can get some rest soon." I said. "I miss you. I wish you were here." He said. I wish I was with him too. Then I start thinking. What if I went to him? I check the time. 3:15 am. Everyone was asleep.

"You want me to come over?" I asked. I wasn't that tired anymore, and I really missed him too.

He answered. "I don't know, Mike. I mean, my dad is still awake." Before I could reply he starts, "He's downstairs with his friends, right now. I don't think you want to be here." He says. I think to myself. At 3am? I sigh. "It's okay, just try and get some rest, I'll see you tomorrow alright?" I say. "Okay, I love you." He says. "I love you too." I respond, turning off my phone.

I move the shade and look out the window. It was very quiet. The only noise you would hear were the rustling of leaves and the very few cars that passed by.

About 5 minutes later, Will called me again and I answered it. "Mike I really can't sleep. You can come over I don't think my dad would find out unless he comes up here. Go to the side and use my bedroom window, ill open it."

With that, I gave off a big smile. "Okay, I'll see you in 10." I say. "See you," he says hanging up.

I get out of bed and quietly start to get ready. I head to the bathroom and brush my teeth. Then I go to the closet to find something to wear. I look around and throw on some black sweats and a white tee. I brush my hair, throw on my shoes and grab my phone.

I open the door and walk down the hall quietly. I peer through Holly's door that was slightly open. She was asleep. Then I walk down and listen to my parents room. Nothing. Nancy's room. Also nothing. I walk down the stairs and carefully open and close the front door successfully making it out the house.
