As Arya was asleep, the centaurs all gathered together. Today they would plan out a whole route for Arya, and make sure she was safe the entire way, which they knew would be entirely impossible, but they could try to do the best they could.
They all longed to be alongside Arya on her journey, but the prophecies said that she would have to journey alone.
They made a plan- they would split into groups of 3 and hopefully make it back by midnight. Even Centaurs weren't safe in the forest, there were stronger magical powers in the forest.
Powers that the centaurs new Arya would be unable to face alone without training.
But it was their only hope.
The centaurs split into their groups and started walking in different directions, but knowing that she would have to find the destination herself. If they told her where her brother was being kept, she would be cursed, and they would be too. No one would survive.
But the world was going to be destroyed soon enough anyway.
By the joker.
There are so many different names for evil in the woods, but The Joker just about sums them all up.
It's crazy to think that the only way the world would return to it's normal state is if Arya managed to manipulate the joker into switching sides, which was never going to happen.
No one even knew who the joker was, or has ever seen him in real life, but the prophecies all say that the joker is a living being that must be killed...
The prophecies have all came true so far, good or bad, but never anywhere near this bad.
It was all up to Arya, Daughter Of The Earth, to not die in a forest full of life-threatening things and actually defeat a being unknown to this earth, meanwhile saving her brother and escaping the forest.
There is literally zero chance that Arya could do much of anything about it.
But they still tried.
All of the centaurs knew that this mission was their only hope, and probably their last mission on the face of the earth, but they didn't give up.
The first group of centaurs, led by Colden, went to the path towards the library. That was probably the safest path if you didn't disturb the shrieking bats, which are giant bats that will pick you up and tear your flesh apart. Not deadly, though, unless you get attacked by ground monsters who will just chomp you up completely.
The second group went towards the swampy river. The river was extremely deadly, it had hungry piranhas the size of a human head and stinger fish that would kill you immediately after touching them.
The swampy bog was filled with scary creatures- leeches that buried themselves in your skin and could jump on to your face and body, poisonous camouflage frogs that were hidden in the mud and would bite straight through your skin into your bones, and then infect you so that you couldn't breathe, basically instant death, and vicious warthogs, who would ley in the mud waiting for prey, and when it found prey, it would ram into them so hard that it would crack their ribs and break open their skin, leaving a wound that would slowly and painfully kill you.
Group three went towards Flowerfly Forest. Although the name might seem tame, Flowerfly forest is filled with the worst type of fly- flosquitoes - a mix between flowers and mosquitoes. Sounds not too harmful, right? There are millions and millions of them- they hide in the stems of flowers until they hatch, then they cut open the flower with their sharp teeth and immediately look for prey. When it finds its prey, it sucks so much blood out of the prey that it is extremely deadly. Then it inserts venom- a special type of venom- into its prey.
This venom makes you hallucinate, and fall down into a bed of flowers, which alerts the other flosquitoes that prey has been caught and it is time for a feast! Then they slowly suck all of the blood out of your body until you die, and then they each release their blood into a flower, creating a new flosquito inside of the stem.
Finally, group four decided to take the scenic route... but also the most dangerous one. They went towards Canyon Closing.
No centaur usually dares venture that way into the forest because it was much too close to the heart of evil... the center of doom... where it was presumed that the Joker lived.
But they would risk their life to make sure she gets there safely. She might have to go that way, because the prophecies were all written at the very bottom of Canyon Closing.
If she had to go this way, she wouldn't make it out alive.
She would have to die...
To save the world.
