the monster

Hopes POV

As me josie and lizzie walked into the high school it was quiet, there were no students no teachers you could hear a pin drop from the other end of the school, the air was cold. Even me the tribrid couldn't help but be scared. Not because of the monster but because what secrets would I need to share to help kill this thing. The bigger the secrets the stronger it is and the more our magic won't work. As we walk by some lockers, we see the deep gash marks and blood.

"Wow something bad must have happened here" lizzie says

"Were in a high school lizzie, full of people keeping big secrets of course something bad happened here" josie says still looking around for any kind of clues where the monster could be 

"Guys we need to be silent if the monster hears us or knows we are here we are in big trouble, our best bet is to try to sneak up and get it by surprise" I tell them

Just then we hear a bang behind us the three of us jumped spinning around.

"What was that" lizzie says almost as a scream

"SHHHH" me and josie say in union 

"Oh, shut up daddy's girls, I am allowed to be freaking out about this"

She wasn't wrong Alaric has never let the twins go out by themselves it was always just bin me and him or sometimes Rafael, mg or Kaleb and Landon when I could stand being around him but he was always protective of the twins, I never really understood why the twins were powerful sure they had to be able to siphon magic but when they could they were just as unstoppable as me.

"Lizzie we are going to be okay" I try my best to shake the fear from my voice hoping to calm her down but even I know I failed

I can see josies eyes on me but I can't look I know I'll crack and I can't do that, not at time like this

We hear another loud slam and we run towards the sound.

"It looks like the sound came from in there" josie says making the first move to open the door

"No, you two stay behind me" I say pushing josie back and walking in.

"of course, you want to be the hero" 

"Lizzie shut up" josie says knowing this isn't the time and place for useless fights

We're walking in what seems to be a gym. When the doors all slam shut.

"Shit were trapped so much for taking it by surprise"

"Shh quiet remember "lizzie says reaching for the door trying to open it just then the monster jumps in trying to get lizzie"

"On second thought be as loud as you want because we are so screwed" she says running beside me and josie as we back up

"Uh okay it feeds on secrets right so let me have it all of it"

"I prefer to die with dignity" lizzie says back

"Lizzie shut up and spill your secrets I don't feel like dying today" josie says

"No, it's fine I'll go first I uhm stole your jade butterfly clip in fifth grade"

"I loved that butterfly clip" lizzie scoffs 

The monster still getting closer

"Not a big enough secret guys think bigger" josie says

"Okay well when I was 14, I had a crush on josie for a week" I didn't even have time to think of what I had said words just came up

"What you did" josie said

"Read my lips the two of you are never going to happen" lizzie shouts

"Okay guys I can't be the only one with secrets a little help would be nice" I say not wanting to share my biggest secret
