From the moment that Ashley Parker had first entered into Hawkins, she always knew that she would be never be more than just an 'outsider'. She was practically the living embodiment of every single thing that would be considered 'not normal' in the conservative small town. She always knew that she was strange looking or that she was a freak and she didn't need the people of Hawkins to confirm that label about herself.
The teen girl had been ostracized from the crowd, forced to wear a shameful label that followed her everywhere she went. Some believed that she was just a rebellious punk and some believed that she was basically the plague because they couldn't accept the fact that someone didn't want to willingly conform to their strict rules of normalcy. Hawkins didn't like 'outsiders' but they especially didn't like 'outsiders' who looked like her.
Ashley wasn't as naive or as stupid as people believed her to be. She knew that all of those pointed stares and under the breath comments were about her. She knew that they couldn't handle someone who looked as free-spirited and as rebellious as she was, taking pride in the discomfort that she had caused for them. She enjoyed the fact that she had upset the harmonious balance in their town.
