We stood there watching the Gypsie carriage burn with Johns body inside it as Tommy and his brothers Arthur and Finn, along with Ada, Polly and Polly's son Micheal looked down at their feet. Tommy reciting the words from

'A Bleak Midwinter'

He says it symbolizes their second chance at life coming to an end and reciting the words when one of them died is something they promised each other while they were away in France.

I met Tommy a year after he returned from war. I never knew what he was like before the war started but Polly says he used to laugh, and smile. He loved to dance too i'm told.

I stood there motionless for a while, not knowing what to do or how I could help the family right now so I just took Tommy's hand in mind and held it tightly, giving his hand a squeeze every so often earning a gentle squeeze back from him when I did.

As we all stood there, grieving and I was comforting Tommy we heard two gun shots in the distance. Every but Tommy quickly took cover close to the ground

"It's all right! The men who are firing the shots are on our side!"

Tommy said as he waved his hand around for everyone at the funeral to notice him through the fog that slowly began to thicken

"For christ sake Tommy.. Seriously? At your own brothers fucking funeral?!" Polly shouted as she stood up, charging at Tommy and hitting his chest and arms which didn't seem to faze him

I watched him stand there, towering over me while I still remained on the ground like everyone else. his hands were in his pockets for a moment before he finally extended his hand to me and helped me up. I brushed the dirt and mud off my knees as I stood

"It was the only way to get some of Luca's men out of the way. Make it easier for us to get the upper hand Pol." Tommy said plainly just as six men rode up on horses, guns in hand

"We got them all Tommy. four of them."

One man on the horse said to Tommy, earning a nod from the brutish man

"Well done Aberama. Thank you, you will be paid for your efforts once everything is completed. We'll see you and your son in a few days for the fight, yeah?" Tommy reached up and shook hands with the man before they rode away

"You better not get your brother, Nina, or your fucking unborn child killed."
