It was now Saturday, Jaeden awoke in the arms of Robin in his bed, the sun shining through the window, illuminating the Texas Chainsaw Massacre poster on the wall opposite the window. The walls were painted white, as mandatory, but decorated with whatever Robin could find. Old license plates, signs, posters, records he never played, etcetera. Robin hated the walls bland and blank, so he filled them with his favorite things, including dusty pictures of him and his friends.
Jaeden rolls out of bed, rubbing his eyes as he makes his way into the kitchen, being greeted by Ms. Arellano, cooking breakfast. The two converse while Jaeden walks to the fridge, grabbing the carton of orange juice and some glasses, setting them at the small dining table.
"You sleep okay, mi hijo?" She asks
"Yeah. What time did you get home? I'd didn't hear you come back" Jaeden asks with concern
Ms. Arellano, now wearing a light blue dress with sort of flowy sleeves looks up at the boy, "Don't worry about me, niño" she smiles, "Really, I'm okay"
Jaeden lightly smiles, pulling some plates from the cabinet and setting them on the counter.
"You any hungry?" She asks
"No, not really. Thanks though" Jaeden smiles, taking some forks to the table for the Arellano's.
Once the three were sat at the table with breakfast, except Jaeden with just some orange juice, the three talk about school, work, etc like they were just a normal family, and it really comforted the curly haired boy. It was a normal morning for a normal family, as normal as it got.
Normal was something Jaeden had craved, two parents who actually loved him and normal talks with them. He didn't know why exactly he wanted to be like everyone else but he did, and he kept it deep down, and appreciated every moment he got with the Arellano's and the Shaw's.
After Ms. Arellano had left for another shift at work and left the two kids home alone again, the two decided to bike around town and take in the sights. The two left the apartment, Jaeden with his backpack slung over his shoulder with some snacks packed in it along with a book and school items he was to lazy to take out. Robin kept the spare key in his pocket as they mounted their bikes, the morning air refreshing as it rained the past night.
They rode down the street, opposite the way the van from the past evening had went, deciding to just bike around town and waste the day away.
The first location was Woodtree Park, where the two would ride around through the trees and small playgrounds on the large hill area for around an hour. They joked about little kids playing on the swingsets and annoyed parents not wanting to spend time with their children.
The rest of the day was riding around town and talking, some silence as they enjoyed the chirping birds above in the trees and lawn mower engines rumbling as people mowed their yards.
By six, the two rode into Finney's neighborhood, wanting to get the two Shaw kids to bring them to watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre at the Drive In. They knew Terrance wouldn't let them go if they were honest, so they thought of a lie that they were going back to Robin's for a sleepover.
Jaeden waited outside, waiting for the three to walk through the front door and mount their bikes so they could laugh as they rode off. The Shaw kids walked through the door, Finney with a soda bottle in his hand as he was trying to hold back a laugh. Gwen and Finn mount their bikes, making their way over to Jaeden as Robin trails behind, leading the way to the drive in.
Finney chuckles as he was riding in between Gwen and Robin, happy he could get away from his dad for once. Gwen was just smiling, excited to see a horror movie for the first time ever, but also nervous. She didn't know what to expect. Robin and Jaeden were rewatching the movie so they were ready to see the siblings reactions.
The movie started at eight, so in the meantime, the group stopped at the diner Ms. Arellano worked at, deciding to get dinner there than spend their money on trash food at the drive in. Ms. Arellano always let the group eat for free, mostly because her manager was super nice and understood her situation.
Shoving their bikes into the bike rack outside, the group walks in, sitting at a booth as Robin's mom saw the four, smiling as she walked over to them.
"Hi" She smiles, greeting the kids, "What do you kids need?"
She takes the group's small orders, all four not all that hungry but filling up before they started starving. She walks back behind the counter, placing their order in the back as she brings out four cups of water for them.
"Thanks Ms. Arellano" Gwen smiles
"Of course, dear"
After ten minutes of talking and conversing, Ms. Arellano returned with the group's orders, setting them down and making sure they were all okay before walking off, dealing with the incoming rush hour. Jaeden and Robin sat next to each other with Gwen and Finney together, all happy to be eating something healthy for once surprisingly. Junk food got old, quick.
Jaeden looks out the large window next to him into the setting sun that was almost down, almost completely dark outside.
And out there was that same fucking van in the parking lot, the same one from the last evening. Black, dark tinted windows, dark green lettering on the side. You couldn't even look into the van to see if anyone was inside, it was pitch black.
Jaeden turned his head away, not wanting to scare himself any further.

Gwen jumps as she looks at the corpse on screen, blood everywhere. Finney wrapped an arm around her and assured her it was just a movie and she could leave if she wanted, but she didn't budge, she had a smile on her face and was enjoying herself.
Gwen sat on the end, Finney next to her in the grass with Robin and Jaeden on the opposite side, just how they sat at Finney's when they watched Wizard Of Oz. Robin and Jaeden were sharing M&M's as they watched, in a trance as they watched the movie for the fifteenth time.
Robin looks over at Jaeden, resting his head on the brunette's shoulder, "You good?"
"Mhm" Jaeden hums, still staring at the screen over the many heads in front of them
Robin takes a few M&M's from the bag, sticking them in his mouth as Jaeden glances down at him.
"You okay?"
"Yeah" Robin smiles, facing towards the screen again
Jaeden wraps an arm around Robin, handing him the small package of sweets, brushing his fingers through the boy's long, straight hair.
"Наслаждайтесь фильмом, дорогая"
