AN - we all know I don't do notes before the chapter but quick warning for like gore, dead animals, blood and physical abuse. I don't want anyone getting triggered or feeling sick reading this :) You can skip to the next chapter/not read until it's posted, what happens in this chapter will be more lightly talked about next chapter :)

It'd been three days. Three agonizingly long days of trying to escape and trying to find a way to kill the son of a bitch. The Grabber fed them once a day, scrambled eggs and water, the bare minimum.

Within those three days, they couldn't find shit. There was a hole in the ground in the hall that led towards the bathroom, but it was quite shallow and they probably didn't have time to dig their way out and up to the surface. They could possibly use one of the glass bottles they were given as a weapon, but they'd need to pull off hiding it first. There was also writing along the wall opposite the window, numbers. Like it was the combination for a lock, the same amount of numbers. The phone wasn't any help, the wire was frayed and useless.

They just sat down there, waiting for death. This night, the kidnapper left the door unlocked, so they would make their move.

Before Robin opened the door, hand already set on the handle, Jaeden taps him on the shoulder. Robin looks back as Jaeden sighs.

"We run. Just, run" He whispers

Robin nods, setting his hand on Jaeden's shoulder. "Don't worry, mi amor. Do you trust me?"

"I trust you, моя любовь" Jaeden smiles
'I trust you, my love'

The two boys open the heavy door together, slowly stepping upstairs into the empty kitchen. Looking around, on the floor next to the door was some animal. They couldn't tell what but it was for sure dead. It's stomach was clearly open and blood had pooled around it. One of the lights was on in the living room, illuminating the creature on the floor.

Walking towards the animal, the Russian and Spanish speakers discover it was a cat. Jaeden's missing cat, Arnie. The fluffy, orange cat was gutted in the middle of the room. The cat still had the black collar Jaeden had bought for it months prior to the cat disappearing. That cat had been gone for three months, and Jaeden wasn't expecting to ever see him again, let alone like this.

Jaeden breaks out into tears as Robin pulls him back, covering his mouth as he began to sob. Knowing the kidnapper could be anywhere, Robin tries to keep Jaeden quiet. Jaeden buries his head in Robin's chest, his sobs muffled as Robin looks down at the cat.

Robin looks up at the door, seeing the main door open, revealing a screen door locked with a standard bike or fence lock. Steps pound on the hardwood floor, a figure moving towards the boys. The whole area was still dim, a silhouette being all they could see.

Jaeden raises his head from Robin's chest in fear, looking at the man with the mask stand in behind the couch. He heald a knife, looking down at Jaeden's beloved cat, his best friend. The man chuckles as the two boys look fearfully at each other, wide eyed and their hearts racing out of their chests. They'd already met their doom.

"Cute cat. Wouldn't have died if you two weren't such naughty boys" The Grabber speaks, his voice eerie and creepy, almost mysterious. The knife drips blood onto the carpet.

Jaeden looks back at Robin, standing straight as the man stares down at the dead cat. Jaeden quickly sets his hands on Robin's cheeks, looking into the boy's brown eyes. The ones he fell in love with so long ago, a home rested within Robin's eyes for Jaeden, a comfort.
