After Stefan and Katherine took care of Gloria's dead body, he was walking around the room full of the other Mikaelson's coffins. He was just about to open one but Verena came into the room. "You're back", she smiled.

"Hi", Stefan came up to place a kiss on her cheek. Feeling a little guilty about lying to her. "Nik went to check on Gloria while you were gone", she informed him.

"Dreary isn't it", Verena looked down to the coffins of her sibling. She opened one of them that belonged to Kol Mikaelson and placed her hand on his right cheek and smiled softly. Finn, Kol, and Verena were the three who weren't very close with Elijah, Rebekah and Klaus.

They were witches and decided to practice magic on their own in peace. But it all changed when they turned.

"Why don't you dagger them?", Stefan asked.

"Kol was distant from me when we turned and I fear that Finn will think that I enjoy being a vampire", Verena smiled softly at one of the memories the three had a thousand years ago. When they were happy. 

"My brother is a little vindictive bastard", she smirked at him as the two sat down. 

"But you still care about him. Why?", he asked. "Well, we're both abominations. But I did hate him for a while. It eventually became exhausting". 

"When I first met you were both on the run". "Also exhausting", she laughing lightly.

"Who were you running from?". Verena hesitated at the question she thought Stefan would never ask. "Last night, I saw you, there was a man looking for you. You were afraid. I didn't think that most unique person who is all of three supernatural's would be afraid of anyone".

"No one in this world is truly fearless, Stefan", Verena smiled of him calling her unique.

"Who was the man?", he asked again. Verena looked a little bit uncomfortable at the question and Stefan noticed and regretted asking. "If Niklaus knew we were talking about this he would-", she was cut off by Stefan apologizing. 

"No, no, no, I'm sorry, really", he said. "Let's just finish what we started early", he smirked as he placed her hair behind her ear before pulling her into a heated kiss.

"Niklaus, told me about Elena Gilbert", Verena pulled away from the kiss. She felt something that wasn't right with Stefan being with her. "He also told me that you're only with him because he saved your brother".

"It's true", Stefan nodded.

"I think he secretly admires that about you", she smirked. "He'd sacrifice anything for family. Don't tell him I told you that", she whispered and Stefan chuckled lightly at her cuteness.

"You're secret is safe with me". 

Verena pulled him into a kiss but it was now Stefan who pulled away. Probably because of the thought of Elena. "Do you think you'll ever love anyone like you love that girl?", she looked into his eyes.

"One day, maybe", Stefan said. The back of Stefan's head wanted to love her but...Elena. Something with the doppelgangers that get two men's hearts.

"I can always tell when you're lying, Stefan", Verena said, a little heart broken but she ignored it. "What? I'm not--", he was cut off by Verena scoffing a little.

"Don't bother. Your kiss already gave it", Verena got up and fixed her shirt a little just to look normal. 

"Gloria's gone! She's cleared out", Klaus came in almost stomping like a small child. "We need to find a new witch". "Hello! I'm right here", Verena waved her hand around. 

"No, not you", he said before turning to Stefan. "What's going on?".

"Something's wrong. He was asking about Mikael", Verena said. "He's not with us, Nik. I can sense it".

"She wrong", Stefan said.

"Just give me a chance to explain myself", Stefan said after Klaus had snapped his neck and placing him in a truck. "No need. I'm not mad, just curious", Klaus smirked. "Verena think that you're holding onto something from your old life.

"The thing is she's got flawless instincts, as well as Rebekah; borderline supernatural. So, I thought I would check out what you were hiding",  Klaus said before pulling up the back truck to reveal Mystic Falls.

"Welcome Home, Stefan".
