"Hey, can I ask you something?" Shayne turned towards his friend who sat next to him. "Did Saige ever act weird around other girls?"

"Act weird?" Considering his confused expression, Shayne could already figure out his answer. "I mean, not really. Though, to be fair, the only girls I talked to are the ones we work with and she knows them. Why do you ask?"

"Well, I noticed the other day that Courtney was acting strangely when Ellie showed up," he thought back to how she acted that day and how close she had put herself to him. "She was, like, holding onto me and getting closer every second."

"If anything, she was probably jealous," Damien turned his chair to face Shayne who remained still. "I mean, you told her about your date with Ellie, right? If I was in her shoes, I'd certainly feel uneasy about that."

"Makes sense. What can I do about it though?"

"Show her how much you care and how much you want to be with her. But, like, don't scare her though. You know what I mean?"

"Yeah. Yeah, I get it. Thanks, dude."

"No problem."

The end of the day finally arrived and Shayne stood against the wall next to the front door. He and Courtney decided to meet outside once she finished up her work so that they could head home together. The slight evening breeze flowed through his hair. He stood with his hand in his Jean pocket and his phone in the other scrolling through Twitter for the third time that day. Though this time he opted not to tweet anything.

"Hey, Shayne!" A familiar voice snapped him out of his social media trance. Ellie was standing in front of him.

"Oh, hey," he put on a kind smile and slipped his phone into his pocket. "What are you doing here?"

"Damien, Saige and I are headed to a get together with some of our friends. They said to meet here so I decided to come by now. What are you up to?"

"Just waiting for Courtney to finish up her work," he said. His thoughts immediately circled to Damien's jealousy theory and the way Courtney acted around Ellie. He hadn't had a chance to talk to Courtney about it yet so he wasn't sure what to really do.

"Gotcha."

"So, hey, heard about you getting the lead in that game. That's awesome!"

"Thanks. I can't tell you how excited I was when I got the news about it," Ellie sighed happily remembering the day she found out. "Now I know how Damien felt when he got that Fire Emblem role."

"You should have seen him," he laughed. "I've never seen the guy more excited about something. He called me at, like, one in the morning yelling at me that he got the role. I mean, I was happy for him, of course, but I'd love to not be woken up that early."

They both laughed at their conversation. Meanwhile, Courtney finished up her conversation with Tommy and Spencer. She was in the middle of grabbing her things when she checked her phone to see a message from Shayne telling her that he was outside. She quickly finished up and walked out of the office to hear laughing. Rounding the corner, she found both Ellie and Shayne laughing together. Her jealousy spiked immediately upon watching her hand grace his chest.

"H-hey, Shayne." She loudly said quickly walking towards Shayne and Ellie who both looked towards her as she wrapped herself around Shayne. "Hi."

"Hi, Court," he laughed at her. "Are you finished up?"

"Yeah."

"Okay, well, I'll go find Damien and Saige," Ellie said. "See you Friday, Shayne."

"Yeah, see you," he said to her as she walked into the office. Courtney let go slightly and looked up at Shayne.
