"Hey, uh, Shayne? When did your family want us to meet them?" Courtney asked. She sat on his couch wearing one of Shayne's hoodies that's slightly bigger than her torso. She put her hair up into a bun and sat back against the back of the couch.
"They said ten I believe." He walked out of the kitchen and stood at the end of the couch looking down at her with coffee mugs in either hand. "That's really all my mom told me other than 'I can’t wait to see Courtney' and 'I'm very proud of you'"
"There's something so nice about that." She laughed. He sat next to her and handed her one of the mugs. She took a long sip of the coffee to wake herself up from the lingering feeling of sleep. "I think she likes me."
"You think?" He couldn't help but laugh at her comment. She placed her mug on the table in front of her next to his own and moved herself closer to Shayne. She sighed contently as she laid herself against him and his arm moved around her shoulders.
"This is nice," she said. "Couldn't you do this forever, baby?"
"Absolutely."

"Why am I suddenly so nervous...?" Courtney stared at herself in the mirror holding her lipstick between her fingers. She spent the last twenty minutes making her makeup perfect. No one wants to look bad when they meet their boyfriend's parents. She's taking that seriously.
Not only was she unsure of her makeup, but her stomach was the number one spot for butterflies to party. Her nerves couldn't seem to calm down no matter what she did. A knock on the door pulled her from her thoughts.
"Courtney? You ready?" Shayne's voice seemed to soothe her, bringing a smile to her face.
"Almost." She replied. "You know, you don't have to knock. You can just come in."
"What if you were naked?" He opened the door and she laughed at him. She walked towards him, wrapping her arms around his neck. His hands found their way to her waist.
"Nothing you haven't seen before." She pulled him into a kiss that quickly turned passionate. They both had to refrain themselves from going any further than that, pulling away from each other with smiles on their faces.
"So, uh, to repeat my previous question. You ready?" Shayne asked.
"Yeah I am." She pulled herself away from Shayne and walked past him, quickly moving her hand to touch his ass before escaping the bathroom with a smirk on her face. "Whoops. My hand slipped."
Shayne simply laughed and followed her out of the bathroom. They got in the car together and began their journey towards the meeting place. As they got closer, Courtney found herself becoming more and more nervous. She tried to hide it but Shayne knew her better than that.
"You okay?" He asked her.
"Yeah." She didn't seem at all confident. Her voice had a certain shakiness to it.
"What's wrong, Court?"
"You're gonna think I'm being silly if I tell you."
"No, I won't. Come on, what's up?"
"I'm nervous about this. What if I make a fool of myself in front of your family? What if they don't like me? I've just got a lot of questions in my mind..."
"Courtney." He grabbed her hand and gave her a kind smile. "My parents have met you before. They already liked you before we got together. You're gonna be okay, I promise. Besides, what is there not to love about you?"
"You're too sweet." She could feel a blush creep onto her cheeks. "I love you."
"I love you too."
They soon arrived at their destination, a park notorious for the kind of thing they went out to do. His family had already arrived moments before they did and quickly found themselves migrating towards the couple as they got out of the car. Courtney stood close to Shayne but still tried to her best to come off as not at all nervous.
