[Mike's POV]
[3rd person?]

I rode my bike to Castle Byers after my altercation with Will, assuming he would be there because it is one of his safe havens.

I sat my bike down in the mud and yelled, "Will! Will, are you here?”

There was no one there after I rushed in and moved the tarp aside from the sketches and images.

In awe, Mike Looked around the area. Mike grab a Will the Wise illustration, a picture of them in Ghostbusters Costumes, ect. and suddenly feels awful.

Mike sighs, reaching into his pocket and retrieves a pocket knife before returning to the puddles of rain and dismantling a piece of wood.

He kneels down with the knife in his hand and carves a carving in the wood.

After finishing the carving, he replaces the wood, making an effort to minimize its appearance.

Hopefully

After wiping his face clean of tears but mostly rain. Brushing back his wet, unruly hair, he gets on his bike, wipes off the now-mud-covered frame, and rides to Will's house.

When he gets close to the Byers house  and spots Lucas there, "Lucas?"

Lucas turns around and asks, "Mike my guy, where have you been! I've been pleading with Will to let me in.” Lucas claims

I Walk towards the door, banging on it "Will! I'm sorry man, really! Could you please let us inside? Man, I didn't mean it!”

“What exactly did you do to anger poor Will this much” shouted Lucas in a whisper.

“We got into a fight; mostly my fault I snapped” Mike answers, throwing his head back and flailing his arms in the air.

He then stares at Lucas, who seemed to have lost hope, and bangs a few more times.

We then turn around to walk back, but hear a click on the door opens to reveal:

A broken-down, tearful, sniffling will appear as the front door opens just as we are ready to depart and board our bikes.

Lucas and I then run over Will, and we both give him a big bear hug.

He appeared to value Lucas' comfort more than mine, which was kind of warranted.

Will then goes to the restroom to retrieve some towels for us to use to dry off.

Will settles into the chair as I and Lucas settle into the sofa, and there is a little awkward stillness before Lucas says.

“I'm not sure what transpired between you two, but you ought to make it up, I say. Nothing terrible should transpire between us since we're a party.”

Will, who was playing with his hands, glanced at Mike before gazing down at the ground before looking up at Will.

Mike seemed to just nod without thinking.

As he continues, Lucas sighs as he considers their current situation.

"I especially don't want you two to quarrel, you two are my dearest friends. Amazing best buddies that watch out for one another, you two.”

Will appears to hate the word "friends," yet it still makes him grin a little since Lucas seems to like him back.

Then the hush recedes for a moment before I speak.

"Will, I apologize. I'm sorry for being a jerk to you. The campaign was fantastic, and you, my bestest of friends, are fantastic. Given what happened to you, I shouldn't have treated you that way. Please grant me your forgiveness.” Mike muttered the words "please" so as not to appear pleading.

Will was silent for a moment, as if he didn't want to say anything.

I must have made a big mistake.

I sighed slightly, and Lucas rubbed my shoulder.

Lucas says, "Just give it some time, we won't push you" with a slight smile.

"Why don't you stay the night here, Mike?" And Mike agrees

"Well, I should definitely go back home. Maybe even get along like good ol' times” Lucas adds as he stood up and walked out the door. Mike nodded.

And with that, Lucas vanished.

Once more, there was complete quiet. Mike glanced over at Will, who was curled up in a fetal position with his head buried between his knees.

Mike had severe regret.

He then moved along next to Will, who appeared to be becoming a little nervous.

“I'm sorry, Will. I sincerely hope that you are doing well and will re-join our friendship. After all, I do care about you. greater than anything else.” Mike lamented, wiping a tear from his face.

I wish I had never abandoned him in that way.

Will then lifts his head to look at him, and from the sight of his swollen eyes, it appears like he is still sobbing.

“Oh..will, “Hey, hey, it's okay, shh” Mike reassured him while giving him a hug. Will clings to him while Mike pats him on the back.

Will sobbed, "Stupid..so stupid" and he let Mike's shirt become wet as he listened. Mike closed his eyes and Will whispered soothing words in his ear to calm him.

Will stops sobbing after a few minutes, and his breathing returns to normal.

“Will?” Mike made a brief call.

When Mike notices the younger one has slept off, he simply smiles sympathetically.

He lifts Will up and places him on his bed with the covers before going to his bedroom.

“M-mike..” Will's eyes flicker open, he cries out inconsolably and grips Mike's arm before falling asleep once again.

Mike then made the decision to remain with him because he appeared to be Will's comforter.

Mike then cuddles up while gazing at Will.

Everything about this child was gorgeous, including his delicate skin reflecting the warm soft light, the way his lips were split and soft looking, his untidy hair, and his eyelashes.

He could gaze at Will for hours, but eventually the warmth of Will made him drowsy and he went to bed with a yawn.
