I walk into my school, it's the first day after the holidays and it feels good to be back cause I get to meet Vinnie again. He's been my bestfriend since we were 5. He's always been there for me and I'm very grateful for him.
I recently started dating the football team captain, Max. Vinnie doesn't really like him but I'm sure he's gonna like him once he gets to know him.
I walk towards my locker seeing Vinnie standing there.
"Hey Vin, how was your trip?" I ask.
"It was awesome. I missed you." He says giving me a hug.
"I missed you too. So much happened." I say.
"Like what?" He asks raising an eyebrow.
"Well I have a boyfriend now." I say.
He stares at me blankly.
"It's Max. I started dating him like a week ago, almost two. I know you don't like him but he isn't that bad."
" 'He isn't that bad' so he isn't good." Vinnie says.
"Come on, Vinnie. You don't have to hate him so much." I say.
"You know we never get along, y/n. Now he'll probably be stuck to you all the time and I'll get no time to actually hangout with you." He says.
"Vinnie this had to happen. It cannot be just us forever. I'll hangout with you but not as much." I say.
Vinnie looks really heartbroken. I feel bad. As I'm about to apologise someone hugs me from behind.
"Hi babe." I hear Max say. He kisses my cheek looking at Vinnie.
"Um hi." I say.
"Vincent, what are you doing here with y/n?" Max asks. I don't like his tone. It sounds like he isn't happy that I'm friends with Vinnie.
"She's my bestfriend, Max. Being her boyfriend you should know that." Vinnie says "And it's Vinnie. I'll see you later y/n."
