Avery's POV

Although Avery had mentally prepared herself on what to expect, it was still nowhere near what she imagined as they drove into the picturesque, charming and peaceful town that she had called home for the first part of her summer. She never in the years that she's being alive on this earth, visualised that it would be such a hustle just to get through and go over to the newly renovated orphanage on the other end of the town.

The actual traffic didn't begin in town but five minutes outside of it, there were already paparazzi and news vans stationed out there along the road sides waiting to take photos or a statement but all the rolls-royces had dark tinted windows along with the few security SUVs that accompanied them, but they still managed to hold up the traffic by running out in front of the vehicles, before the guards got out of their SUVs and held them aside. And it wasn't any better once they entered the actual town, it was worse than outside and was taking time to get through it with cameras flashing against the windows, cameramen running beside the vehicles and reporters knocking on the windows to speak with them.

"Ahh!"

Avery let out a frightened scream and jumped in her seat when one of the paparazzi slammed himself against her window having tried to get in, producing a loud thud that shook the vehicle a little.

"Shit." Miranda swore, holding a hand over her chest.

It didn't just startle Avery but all of them, as they all stared at where it happened with saucer-wide eyes, leaning towards the other side of the rolls-royces.

"Are you alright Miss?" The guard who sat up front with the driver, looked back at Avery.

"Yes." Avery breathed.

10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

She counted backwards in her mind to help her calm down. That was a little scary.

"Stag to Fox, we request a perimeter around our vehicle." Avery heard that same guard speaking into his earpiece.

"Copy that Fox, we're on our way." A statistic voice replied from the radio.

Once security surrounded them, they drove smoothly down the road to the orphanage without anymore incidents and fortunately it had a fence that surrounded the entire property, so majority of the media wasn't allowed inside, only a handful that were given access to the actual event inside.

Coming to a stop in the parking lot beside the first two rolls-royces and a SUV, the same guard got out of the vehicle and held the door open for them, with Avery being the last one to get out as she sat further inside.

"Miss." The guard nodded at her, checking to see if she was okay.

"Thank you." Avery gave him a smile before going over to where the other contestants stood, along with Madam Eunice.

"Ladies! Can you give a statement on your time as a contestant in the Royal Palace?!"

A report shouted from outside the precinct, with cameras all pointing towards them and paparazzi taking photos. They were so many questions fired from the media that it was hard to hear what most of them were saying, it was a ruckus of noise.
