Scarlett then goes straight to Elliot's room.
It turns out that apart from being a royal footman, he is also an aspiring author, and Scarlett is his lover.
Elliot was sleeping on his table.
Scarlett slams his head.
"What did you do?!"
"Ouch! What?"
"I thought you got rid of the book!"
"what book?"
"The book that you wrote about his highness!"
"Ohhh.... Wait what?!"
Elliot was surprised.
"Hold on... Why are we talking about this?"
"Because Marcel, the newcomer, said that he read the book!"
"And?"
"And you said you got rid of that?!"
"I did... By secretly stacking it into a supply of books for donation."
"Oh... wait WHAT?!"
"Look, I took my chances, and it worked! This Marcel guy might be the one who could actually help us lift the curse!"
"But in the process, you also went against the prince's wishes! He did tell you to get rid of that book because he didn't want anyone to know about his story!"
"And what? We stay like this until the calendar expires? Until we finally get to the point where we receive eternal damnation?"
"Oh c'mon Elliot, be reasonable!"
"I am Scarlett! For once, I'm doing everyone here a favor, and I'm so upset that you don't see that!"
"I just don't want you getting in trouble!"
Scarlett embraces her lover.
"What I did was for all of us, including the prince." says Elliot.
"You may be upset right now Scarlett, but I hope you, along with everyone else, will try to help me in getting our lives back." he adds.
"Okay... Does everyone else know?" she asks.
"Not yet. I'll inform them tonight before we all go to bed." he answers.
Scarlett gives a worrisome look.
"Darling, don't you remember? Shayleigh also cast a spell for everyone to forget about this castle's existence. All of our existence. I wrote that book in hopes that one day, someone would believe that it is not just a myth. And this Marcel guy now believes that it is real. He could be the one who could help us."
"Yeah, but did you even write in that book on how he's gonna break the spell?"
"No. I intentionally left that part out."
"Why??" She asks.
"Because I don't want the person who believes in the story to feel the pressure of falling in love with a rotting corpse." he answers.
Scarlett continues to look anxious.
"We must let him uncover everything by himself." Elliot adds.
"Agreed." She says.
"It's going to be a rough road ahead. Breaking the spell won't be easy. His highness has to do his part too."
"Yes. Let's just hope that your plan works."
"We'll just have to believe in it. Now c'mon, we still have a lot of things to do."
