Thanksgiving has arrived.
Emmita is celebrating the event for the first time without her son.
Instead of happily enjoying a meal with Marcel, she is filled with anxiety, knowing that the Barangay Captain, along with his henchmen, are keeping a close eye on her.
She reminisces the time when she used to celebrate Thanksgiving at a time when her family was still complete.
She looks at a picture of her, Marcel as an infant, and her then-husband.
"Oh Marcel. I'm so sorry that you had to tolerate this kind of life. You deserved nothing the best."
She keeps looking at the picture.
"Not only did your father left us, but you also had to sacrifice yourself just for me. God only knows what kind of pain and suffering you have to endure while you're still at that castle."
Emmita puts down the frame.
