"Let me get that for you," Jaeon said while adjusting her chair to the table, "Thanks" she replied with no eye contact. *Jaeon clears his throat* "I hope this restaurant lives up to your expectations, and I got it just for the two of us tonight" but judging by the look on her face she wasn't so pleased with that statement. "And why would you do that?" she asked with annoyance. "Well for starters, that's what you wanted"

Should I do this? Yeah, I should, let's see her sweat a little *grins*

"What?!, I... What do you mean that's what I wanted? Ari shouted looking more confused than ever. "You told me you wanted a romantic dinner, at a restaurant, and I should rent out the entire place, don't you remember?" she looked like a deer in headlights on a dark Christmas night.
"Of.co. of course, I do, psssh, why wouldn't I?" She replied with a nervous laugh, slowly taking a sip of her water. "Could you excuse me for a minute?" She bolted out of the room before he could answer her and headed straight for the bathroom.
Uggghhhhhhh, Jesus Christ!!! Why just why did I agree to do this stupid date for Myia? She better count her days for this because I'm gonna get her back! I have to get her back! And you! what's with this being nervous shit, bitch get it together YOU'RE ARI KING. oh, dear God, I'm having a pep talk with myself, can this night get worse than it already is?

*Phone vibrates, caller ID: Bestie ❤️🥹🫂*
Oh, I'm gonna let her ass have it tonight just wait until I...

*Phone falls into the toilet*

No no no no, shit, uggghhhh what the fuck!!! She quickly pulled the phone out and tried to dry it off with some paper towels, but the screen went completely blank, at this point Ari was over it, over everything, she washed her hands and marched out back to the table. Jaeon stood up to assist her with her chair again, but she dismissed him by raising a finger.
"Ka ' Myia is everything ok? You seem off" Jaeon asked but observing her he could tell she was about to explode. Her face was red, her eyebrows tensed, and she was just staring at him. For a couple of seconds, quietness filled the air between them, and they just sat there trying to figure out what to say to each other when suddenly the waiter came out and presented them with the menu for the day. Ari watch Jaeon reading the menu and without even thinking she blurted out "I'm not Ka ' Myia Smith" that's weird, saying that didn't seem to move him at all, he was still reading. "My name is Ari King and Ka ' Myia is my best friend, she asked me to come to this date for her because she was eeeeerrrrr out of town, I know I should've been honest from the get-go but I wasn't and I'm sorry, now if you'll excuse me, I gotta go home and put my phone in some rice" she then got up and just an inch away from him he held her hand and stood up, looking down on her and with a smile he replied "I know" she backed away from him and folded her arms scanning him from head to toe. "What. Do. You. Mean. By. You. Know?" she questioned while gritting her teeth. "If you sit back down, we'll talk about it over dinner," he said while getting back into his seat. You could tell that Ari was furious, but intrigued at the same time, so she took a seat eyeing him closely. He ordered his food and Jaeon poured some red wine into the glasses, he cleared his throat and made direct eye contact with Ari.

"So basically, you and Ka ' Myia planned this whole dinner date thing because she thought I wouldn't agree to go freely?" she asked with one eyebrow raised "That's correct" he replied taking a sip of his wine. Hmmm, sneaky bitch... But weirdly, she never mentioned him before though, not even once. Never saw him at her birthday parties, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year. "I never come around her house because you know how her father gets when boys are around, but we would always hang out with each other after school" he stated. "Hold on, you're Flames? That dude would sneak out at night and smoke weed with?" Ari questioned with wide eyes, "Oh no that was my cousin, they had a thing back then, but his dad shipped him off to military school after he found out about him smoking" he replied "But I've seen you around her a couple of times, just didn't build up enough courage to ask you out. Besides you always had this resting bitch face...not very inviting" Jaeon joked while taking a bite of his steak. "I don't know if I should be mad or impressed that you guys pulled off this prank date but just know it'll be the last, I can promise you that, I don't even..." "Like Men, so I've heard" before she could finish her sentence Jaeon mumbled the rest. She gave him a bit of a side-eye, but he just laughed it off. "But I'm willing to change that if you'll let me" this caught her off guard and she choked a little on the wine. She quickly put the glass down, got up, and left the table. She was leaving, but Jaeon wasn't the type to give up that fast, he stood up, made two steps, and was in front of her. "But before that, let me take you out on a proper date, all I need is a chance" he stated, "Ok fine!... but why me? Why not some other girl? What about me could pique your interest? "Ari asked and he slid her hair behind her ear and simply said "Because I pick my poison and it's you"...........
