Chapter 30- Mission Complete

Jeaon pushed the doctor out of the way and ran to the operating room, there she was lifeless on the operating table, blood on the blades and gauzes. Just as he was about to open the door security held him back and pinned him to the floor, as the operating door flickered back and forth, he watched as they covered her body was a cloth and wheeled her away. His cries could be heard from every corner and room of the hospital, his tear-made puddles on the floor, as he closed his eyes every moment, they shared together came rushing back to him.

Minutes later he was calm enough and could give the doctor information needed for her death certificate. An hour later, he walked to the parking lot making his way to Asher's car, he sat in the driver's seat, staring at his reflection in the mirror, and started to hit the steering wheel continuously. Suddenly, the car locked automatically, and the car started, and an audio started playing.

7 Days Earlier

I got an unexpected call from Asher asking me to meet up with him at a secret location. At first, I was hesitant but when he said it involved your safety I didn't think twice. I followed his instructions carefully and made sure I wasn't being followed by anyone. When I got there it was an old, abandoned hospital, I was on alert and had my hand hovering over my gun. The heel of my shoes squealed as I stepped on the broken glass that was laying on the ground, the sudden sound frightened me, and I pulled out my gun and flashlight. "Damn! Are you always this prepared?" Asher questioned, I held the flashlight to his face and lowered my gun. "I thought you were in some kind of trouble, a girl gotta keep herself protected you know" I responded while putting my gun away. "So... how long will you continue to lie to him Ari, or should I say Min-Ju" he asked.

My facial expression was dead, but my thoughts were running wild, "What you got going on in your life, is catching up to you and somebody is gonna end up dead" he continued. "How'd you find out?" I asked, "I was threatened to keep an eye on you, plus I had a dream months ago and my dreams are never wrong" he replied. "Keep an eye on me? Who ordered that?" I questioned "Kevon Lowes" he answered. The vein on my forehead stood up as I pushed my hair back. "Look, I'm only coming to you with this information to protect Jeaon, this is deeper than you can ever imagine so just leave the country and take your bullshit with you" he advised. "Asher please tell me everything you know" I pled.

"Earlier this year I found out that someone was stealing money from Jeaon, I did some digging and it landed but to Mr. Edman. Founder of the Little Boys and Girls Foundation, for 6 months 7 million dollars was gone. But what didn't add up was that Mr. Edman died a year before and his eldest daughter sold the company" he explained, "To whom?" I asked, he popped a lamp onto the table and dropped a file in front of her, he looked at the file and then back at her giving her permission to open it, "His dad?!" I shouted, "Yup, and Jeaon's company isn't the only one he is taking money from under that business name. He managed to get investors from all over" he continued. I continued to flip through the file and came across some more photos, "What's this?" I asked, "That's him meeting up with some old soldier some time back, but he was killed by some psychopath" he answered. I side-eyed and then took a closer look at the photo, is... is that Gooden? What the actual fuck. "But why that company?" I asked, "Word on the street is that he is involved in drug and human trafficking, mostly underage kids" he replied. It all makes sense now, all of it.... "Listen a war is coming and you're in the middle holding something that they are willing to kill for" he stated.

"I need your help" I stated, "Fuck no, didn't you just hear all of what I said they want you dead, D.E.A.D with whatever information you got on them, shit I almost died gathering all that data sitting in that file" he shouted as he walked away from me, "He killed Mel" I stated, Asher stopped dead in his tracks and turned around immediately, "Wh..What did you just say?" he asked as he slowly approached me, "Her death wasn't an accident Asher, he killed her because she had information on him" I responded. "I can prove this all to you, but you have to help me put an end to this once and for all" I continued. "Are you in or out?' I asked.

Audio ended, Read the letter in the glove compartment.

Jeaon was confused as to what he had just listened to, without hesitation, he searched for the letter and opened it immediately.

Open The Letter

If you're reading this, I can just imagine all the questions you have for me and all the emotions that you are currently going through. But you know now what I was trying to undercover and protect. Lee found out that your father was involved heavily in drug and human trafficking mostly of underage kids, he would pay soldiers to capture the homeless and send them to the US when mission teams came back. He hid them under the Boys and Girls Foundation company that he bought from Mr. Edman's eldest daughter. The investors were just coverups for the buyers, Lee did his investigation and gathered all of it on a thumb drive, somehow word got out of his suspicions, and they had him killed. He sent it to Mel hoping you would expose them, but he also had her killed, it was up to me to complete this mission for them and avenge their deaths. When you go back to the apartment you rented out for me go into my room and search for the box underneath my bed, there you'll find the code to the safe that's in the secret room, Asher will show it to you. There you'll find the thumb drive; I need you to expose him to the public. Asher has all the evidence that you will need to use against your dad in court. I need you to trust me on this one, you'll be called as a witness and if you leave the country now you will be seen as an  accomplice in your dad's human trafficking scheme. 

As for us, every moment we spent together was genuine on my end, I fell in love with your heart and soul, and there is nothing I would want more than to spend the rest of my life with you and build a family, but I know that is not possible...... well not for now, not after what I've put you through, so I've made a decision for you, by the time your almost through reading this letter I would already have left the country. I promise after everything is over we will meet again.

Jeaon held the letter in his hand and ran back inside the hospital, "Show me her body right now" he demanded, the doctor took him to the viewing room and as he pulled the cloth away, he realized it wasn't her. She faked her death.... And the death of my child...
