Stan barely saw Kyle today either.

He had a few classes with him, but Kyle rarely talked to him during them and only did when he felt obligated to.

At lunch, he didn't even sit with them. He went into a classroom to work on "student council stuff". Sure, he skipped lunch before, but he told Stan that before he actually did it. And Stan also joined him in the classroom where Kyle worked on student council stuff.
This, this was like Kyle was taunting him.

Like he knew how shitty this was making Stan feel. Like he was being so bitter on purpose.

Maybe Stan wasn't as good as he thought he was at hiding his crush on Kyle. Maybe Kyle had realised that Stan liked him and was just ghosting him now. Maybe someone told Kyle that Stan liked him. Maybe that was it.

Maybe Stan didn't need to hold out hope that Kyle might reciprocate his feelings.

Stan really wasn't one to worry, but that was because before he could worry, Kyle was there, with the logical solution or answer to anything that might even slightly upset him.

But Kyle isn't being logical right now. This could be the most un-logical thing he's ever done. And he's done a not of non-logical things, considering he's friends with Cartman.

"Dude, where's your boyfriend?"

Stan woke up from his trail of thought to see Clyde.

"Where's YOUR boyfriend?"

Clyde gritted his teeth,
"Tolkien isn't my boyfriend!"

Stan grinned,
"Who said anything about Tolkien?"

"Who said anything about KYLE?"

"I never said anything about Kyle."

"You implied it!"

"Pfft. No. You did."

Clyde grinned as he saw his, totally not boyfriend, Tolkien walking up to them,
"What are you doing?"

Both Clyde and Stan looked at Tolkien, then at each other, then at Tolkien, again,
"NOTHING!"

"I don't care enough to ask." Tolkien frowned as he leaned on Clyde from sleepiness, "There's like, one more lesson of school left. Then I can go hooomeee."

"Don't fall asleep just yet." Clyde grinned as he, reluctantly, leaned away from him, "Your parents would kill you if you skip class to sleep."

"Yeah yeah, I know". Tolkien rolled his eyes as he leaned away from Clyde too, he raised his hand in goodbye, "See ya, Stan."

"See ya."
