~Third-person P.O.V~
When Germany heard the Pearl Harbor attack last December, many were excited that Japan crippled one of America's naval base but there were also some who were concerned that their farthest ally might have awakened a sleeping tiger. The concerned ones are right that it won't be long for the American forces to land in Europe in a matter of months.(Around late March, 1942)
~Luke's P.O.V~
I just got back last January and as usual, Reinhard immediately dragged me back. I was surprised to know that he's now the new Reichsprotektor of Bohemia-Moravia. I guess that I missed a lot when I was at sea. Sometimes, I feel that I'm in a tug-of-war between Reinhard and Großadmiral Dönitz in terms of my duties.I heard that Anna was invited over to the Protectorate House not long after Reinhard was appointed. I was not surprised but I admit that I was a bit late to the party due to my naval duties but orders were orders. At least I have the actual orders to be in the villa as one of Reinhard's guards. If I'm not wrong, he offered my sister a position with him. Though I don't know the details but she refused. Refused a better position out of which she is actually loyal to, huh... sounds precisely like Anna.
For the time I spent here, I've observed enough to know that Reinhard is quite a master organizer as well. He also has every information on every officer stationed in his palace or in the Gestapo and all of it are worth of disgrace for a possible discharge or even execution depends on how severe the leaked information is. That alone frightens me if in some way Reinhard knew my... interest towards the new doctor. I'm sure that he will not give me any lenience for it.
Anyway... there were rumors of resistance in town and the leaders of the resistance call themselves as the "Three Kings". Of course, three men lead the resistance just from the name alone and we successfully captured one of them. I was present and one of the "kings" was quite a tough nut to crack but a bit of whipping from me did the trick. I wish Reinhard given me more time to enjoy myself after he got the information...
"So, that's two left...". "Correct, Obergruppenführer." I confirmed. He once teased me why I don't refer him with his new title and I answered that I'm used to refer him as the Obergruppenführer and luckily, he didn't mind it. He told me that I can use either one. "I heard that my sister had fun here..." I brought up the topic. Reinhard confirmed that all of them had fun that day.
"Then how did you manage to... reason for Anna's sudden absence." I tried to tease him back and he answered that he has his own ways. "Of course you do..." I rolled my eyes with a smirk. Reinhard then asked what I would react if he gave me the position instead. I answered, "I'm already under your command, Obergruppenführer. You may put me in any position you like." I added the good position is much more preferable. He sighed a chuckle, "I'll think of that."
For the upcoming weeks, the Gestapo stationed in Bohemia-Moravia is sent to gather any information about the remaining "kings" and capture the accomplices. Over the course of the month, the activity of the Czech resistance drastically reduced. Most of the Gestapo officers were relieved that they didn't have to work overtime but Reinhard expected us to be vigilant as always.
Aside from official duties, I also help around the house. Lina said that I have much more nurturing gestures than my sister and the boys really like me. One of them asked me if I can play piano but I told him I can't then he grabbed Reinhard's violin and lent it to me. It wasn't as hard as I expected and Reinhard said that I look much better with the violin than guitar. "I need at least five more years to catch up to you." I responded while returning the instrument.
"I'm sure you'll do well." he smiled and he took the violin back. Reinhard and his son then did a small performance and it was lovely. Lina and I did enjoy it. Anna came by few days later for an assist in meeting and it was the only time both of us escorted Reinhard. Even though I had more... role in the meeting, my sister took notes of the meeting attendants and she just stood there... watching... like an owl. It creeps me out whenever she's like that.
