You glance at the plate of appetizers placed neatly before you; deviled eggs, cocktail shrimp and baked potatoes. You decide to start with the shrimp first as you disliked eggs to a high extent.
The table's full of clatter and chatter as everyone digs into their plates and engages in conversations with each other.
"Did you try the eggs?" Taehyung asks you. You look down at the untouched eggs on your plate. "Taehyung, you know I hate eggs."
"Just try them, they're really good," he insists, but you frown, refusing once again. "Come on, just try it once," he says, bringing a small piece of the egg in between his chopsticks.
"Taehyung, no," you whine. But he pretends to not hear your protests and instead brings the chopsticks to your closed mouth.
"Y/N," he tries to say in his intimidating voice, but you knew better than to fall for that.
You keep your mouth closed and shut your eyes in disgust. But he places his hand on your jaw, "it's just a little, come on Y/N," he pouts. And you finally decide to give in, not being able to resist his pleads and his pout. You place your hand over his hand as he guides the egg into your mouth.
"Isn't it good?" he asks, watching you chew on it skeptically.
"It's actually pretty good," you admit, looking at him with bright eyes. He smiles. "See, I told you. I'm always right."
"Yeah, yeah," you roll your eyes.
"Aren't they absolutely adorable?" Taehyung's mother, who'd been watching the scene unfold before her eyes, tells her husband.
Taehyung's father smiles, watching Taehyung feed you another egg as you give into his protests to let him feed you—more like baby you. "They're truly a match made in heaven, dad's right," Taehyung's father responds.
"Seokjin is coming next week," Taehyung's grandfather declares to everyone.
Taehyung looks up from his plate at the mention of his older brother. "Next week? He didn't tell me."
"It was last minute," Taehyung's father informs his younger son. Taehyung nods in understanding.
"He's staying for a few months," Taehyung's mother adds.
"For Jiminie's engagement party in two weeks—and yours next month." Taehyung freezes, looking at his mother in bewilderment, not wanting to believe the words that had just come out of her mouth.
