Money landing business is the main base of this play as it creates the formation of the bond story.
Shylock has a money landing business through which he gives loans with interests and when a person is not able to pay, he ends up taking their dwellings(houses)
On the other hand antonio, being a Christians, lends money without interests, as stated in his religion. He also helps out others who are not able to pay for their debts to shylock causing a setback in shylock's business of money landing.
This was also one of the reasons for shylock's hatred towards antonio, other than religion.
