Chapter 7.

What's your fav animal?

ALESSIA POV:

I lock the door to my bedroom and proceed to Alice's office, where I know he has a printer. It's probably my best option if I don't want to spend hours looking around the house in search of one.

Once I knock on the door of the office as I arrive, nobody responds. When no one answers, I knock once again and proceed to open the door. I was surprised to find it unlocked. But with an army of mafia men watching over your home, why would you need to lock the door?

I peek inside and discover that it is empty. I then decide whether or not to enter by looking back into the hallway. Alice might not murder me if I enter, and I like those chances. I then slowly close the door after entering.

When I get to the printer, I realise I left my laptop in my room. I walk back over to the door and put my hand on the handle to open it, but stop when I hear foots step near the room.

The only place to hide would be beneath the desk. I wriggle under and squeeze as much of myself into the space available as I can. Someone calls the person as soon as they close the door after entering. "What do you want?" Alice grits out

Why even are you hiding?because I shouldn't be in here.You just said that the odds were good.Well, no anymore! I'm sure he wouldn't harm me or anything, but it will still cause a lot of questions. What I'm printing, why I was printing it.

ALESSANDRO POV:

"What do you want?" I say into the phone. Rafael Santos, the boss of the Spanish Mafia, has been a pain in my ass for sometime now. "Oh come on Alessandro, don't be so rude".

I walk over to my desk and take a seat slumping back, not wanting to deal with his bullshit.

"You only call when you need something, so I suggest you tell me what you want before I rip out your thro-" he cuts me off.

"now, now Alessandro. We wouldn't want your little sister getting involved now would we?" I can just hear him smiling on the other side. I sit up from the sloppy position.

"If you touch a single hair on her head, I will rip you apart, limb from limb" I say, letting my anger show. It was true though , I would rip him apart.

"Tell me, Alessandro. Do love you sister? Cause I would hate for something bad to happen to her- oh wait no I wouldn't care. So I need you to do as I say or things won't end well for her, ok?" I stay silent. Whatever he wants me to do won't be good, he's found my weakness and now will use it how he wishes.

He tells me his job for me, "I need you to help me find out the boss of N.A.M, simply task really".

Playing any game with N.A.M is a dangerous one, no one knows who their boss is except few in their inner circle. The boss is dangerous, no one want to mess with them, being the most powerful mafia boss.

Lots of big names work for them, Midnight, Diaboli, Ace of Spades- all some of the best assassin in the world.

"Why do you need to know?" I curiously ask.

"that does not concern you, so are you taking the job or is your sister going to suffer?"

I have no choice, unless I want Alessia to get hurt. "Deal" I say quickly into the phone.

"Good choice" Santos says, before I can say anything else he hangs up the phone.

I hold the phone in my hand for a second before opening up the messaging app. I pull up the group chat between me and brother and text 'meet me in my office, now'.

ALESSIA POV:

Since Alessandro didn't have the phone on speaker I couldn't hear exact conversation, but I know he made a deal with Santos. And I'm wondering if I can trust him, mafia wise.

I hear a knock on the office door, Alessandro tell the person to enter. Instead of just one set of foot steps, several enter. Guess I'm going to get find out the deal.

"You called for us?" Elijah speaks first. When he refers to us I'm guessing it's the rest of my brothers in the room.

"I just got a call from a certain someone," Alice says "Rafael Santos" he spits his name out like venom.

"What did he want?" Alex asks. Alice takes a second to speak "he knows about Alessia, he threatened to kill her if I didn't do what he said"

"And what did he want you to do?" Alex cautiously asked. Alice shifts in his seat and his feet tap on the ground in front of me- one of his tells I'm guessing, meaning he is worried or stressed, angry even but it is still hard to tell which emotion the tell comes from, "he wants me to find out who the boss of N.A.M is".

The room is silent, I can't see their faces to tell what they are feeling. "And you agreed?" Dante talks next.

"What other choice did I have? They were threatening Alessia" Alice says.

Dante speaks again "now the North American's will want to kill us all, there the most powerful mafia, their boss maybe unknown but we know the boss is dangerous. You should have just let them kill her".

Dante's word make Alice stand up from his seat "listen, I know you hate her, but she is innocent and she is still our sister"

Innocent?  inside I'm laughing  but luckily I keep quiet under the desk. Good to know he wouldn't kill me if he found me, wait no I still probably shouldn't get out right now.

Dante stays quite. "So what are we going to do know?" Matteo says slowly.

Alice sits back down in the chair "we do it, we find out who the boss is"

They talk about ideas and stuff to find out the boss, until it was time for dinner, "Ambrose, get Alessia for dinner. No one is to say a thing"

Alice stands up and they leave the room, I get out from under the desk and wait a minute for them to leave the area. I open the door and peep out.

When I see no one in sight I quickly run to my room, I see Rose looking worried but when he sees me it fades. "Where were you? Dinners ready by the way". "Just out for a walk" I lie and we walk down to the dinning room.

We sit down in out seats and food is served. We talk about random things on till I remember I start school on Monday (today is Friday and my brothers got the day off to take me to the shops) . "Can I just not go to school on Monday?" I ask with a smile and pleading eyes.

They all look at me "of course you have to" Alice says. I roll my eyes and go back to eating, earning some small laughs from my brothers- minus Dante.

We eat and talk some more before going back to our rooms. I know have some information- Santos wants something from me or he wants to take me down.

It's funny, cause Alice needs to find the boss. And he doesn't know the boss is his sister he who he is trying to protect from the Spanish who are threatening his sister and will kill her if Alice doesn't find out he N.A.M boss identity, who just so happens to be me- his sister. 

I get back to my room and throw myself onto the bed, sore from being trapped in the small space without moving for so long. I turn over so my back is on the bed and open my laptop to do some work, then realise I didn't get to print those papers.
