Lissa placed her elbow against the arm of the stiff wooden chair and rested her chin on her palm. She studied Eddie, who was meticulously packing the board and game pieces into the canvas bag.
He glimpsed at Lissa, "So what'd ya think?"
"It definitely wasn't the devil worshiping Satanic ritual the news keeps saying it is."
He threw his hands up, "Thank you! Now if you could relay that to the rest of the town..." he trailed off.
Her chest felt heavy with the realization that they were alone. She stood, twisting her fingers around each other anxiously. "I mean, it's really just a bunch of nerds playing make-believe. Harmless." She staved off a playful grin and circled the table towards him.
Eddie looked back, watching her shrug. He spun and grabbed his chest, "Ugh, right to the heart." He moved close to her. "You act like you didn't enjoy it. Maybe you're a nerd, too."
Too close. Lissa put her hands on his chest, attempting to blithely push him away - a move she's enacted with him often, but this time he didn't fall away Eddie grabbed her wrists, pulling them down to her sides. Her hands shook in his grasp. He looked down into her eyes, gauging her reaction. She looked back into his dark eyes with bewilderment. Eddie's gaze moved to her lips; he leaned to kiss her.
His hands tightened around her wrists as his lips pressed against hers. Their chests compressed against each other, he was warm, it was comforting. His hands released her wrists, his hands finding their way onto her neck. The kisses grew faster, his lips parting hers. She could feel his tongue greedily invade her mouth to slither around her tongue. Lissa couldn't remember when she grabbed his hips, but she squeezed. He let out a throaty sound - she loved it and twisted his shirt in her fists.
Eddie felt the musty air of the drama room touch his skin as his shirt lifted in her grasp. He pushed his pelvis against her, moving a hand to cradle the back of her neck. He stepped forward, navigating her against the table.
Lissa pressed her hands against the table and hopped up. He licked his lips, stepping between her thighs. He rested his hands on her thighs and planted his lips on hers. Her hands slid behind her on the table, holding herself at an angle. Eddie leaned over her, he moved his kisses to her neck, sliding his hands to the backs of her thighs. She dug her knees into his hips.
He pulled at the collar of Lissa's sweater and dragged his tongue the length of her throat. "Today's the day you wore jeans." he breathed.
"Guess you'll just have to work for it." She whispered with a sultry tone. He bit her neck in response.
The theater room doors burst open. "Eddie, I forgot to tell-" Dustin stopped mid-sentence as Lissa shoved Eddie and threw herself to her feet. "I didn't see anything! I'll tell ya tomorrow." Dustin backed out of the room and they could hear him fade in the hall, "You were right, I shouldn't have gone back."
Face hot with embarrassment, Lissa pressed her palms to her cheeks..
Eddie rubbed his jaw and took a breath.
"Um, it's getting late." She picked up her purse jacket and headed toward the door.
Eddie skipped after her. As she grabbed the push bar handle of the theater room door, he grabbed it, holding the door closed. He flattened his body against her back, his lips nearly on her ear, "Do you really want to say good night?"
She froze, conflicted between desire and logic.
He took her silence as the answer and moved his hands to the deadbolt. The lock echoed as he twisted it, sealing them from the world.
