The final sprint

A familiar face scowled at you from above with bright eyes like a cor lapis and a small gem on his forehead.

"Uh.... I .... Um" you stuttered trying to fathom how much danger you were in right now.

"You match the description of the person that inazuman boy was looking for" he interrogated.
"What does he want from you?" He asked slightly calmer than when he asked the first one.

"He kidnapped me, please don't tell him I'm here." You stated still a little shaken up from when he surprised you. He nodded and began to leave.

"He has left" Xiao said before disappearing into harsh green shadows.

You continued your journey up to stone gate, flopping down on a table.

An old man who you recognised to be Pops Zhou.

"Would you like to buy some tea?" The man offered welcomingly.

"Oh I'm sorry I don't have any mora" you said politely.

The man saw your weary expression.
"It's on the house." He said giving you a smile.

You drank the tea gratefully, it's warm taste clearing your mind.

You thanked the man as you proceeded on to pass the gate.

Mondstat.

Venti might have been the archon there but he and Kazuha were still probably in liyue and all you needed was tonight to make it to the city.

You crawled up to dawn winery, the affects of the tea wearing off.

You only intended to stay for a couple minutes as you passed by but your body had other plans.

As you turned the corner to the mondstat path you collapsed, to the shock of Tunner who was the first to see you drop. He alerted Elzer who carried you inside.

"We should give them to the knights of favonius, they know how to deal with these things." Elzer said to Adelinde but they were interrupted by a certain darknight hero.

"Keep them here" Diluc said surprising himself.
"I don't trust the knights." He said bluntly, trying to make up for his previous comment.

You woke up comforted by a warm bed in a fancy looking room.

"Ah your awake" a polite but suspecting voice spoke.
"Do you remember why you are here?"

'They don't look like a fatui' he thought.

"I have to get to Mondstat" you blurted.

"Why?" He asked sceptically.

"Someone is looking for me." 'Shit now I really sound like a fatui, please don't kill me Diluc.' You thought regretting your words.

"I've been captive for a long time and I need to get far away." You elaborated and you saw his face calm a little.

Diluc knew a liar when he saw one. You were not lying.

"I can get you a cart to Mondstadt for noon but you are welcome to stay here for a while" he wasn't sure what had prompted the second part but he was genuine in his offer.

You politely declined but took the cart to mond.
