Leaves rustled together as a scarlet filled face pounced out onto the hot sand of the beach. Pride hummed in his chest walking out to the huts.

His eyes lit up once spotting his target, Ralph.

The chief was busy chatting with Piggy about the little' uns. An in easy look wrinkled his face.

"Piggy, you have one job to do, watch the little'uns."

"But Ralph.! There is so many and they don't listen to me! They even take my specs.."

"Well, do they listen to Simon?"

"It's seems so but-"

Jack chimed in on their conversation. "Me and my hunters got a huge boar for supper!"

"That's nice Jack." Ralph waved him off, his full attention back to the overweight boy.

"Just go get Simon to help, I gotta go check on the fire."

A heavy sigh left his lungs as he brushed past Jack, almost bumping into him while Piggy scurried off to find Simon.

A sinking feeling filled his body, throwing his stick on the ground with frustration tears glistering his icy blues.

Why doesn't Ralph congratulate him on his hunts? Why is his only concern is that god damn fire and that fatty? Why can't he have all of Ralph's undivided attention!?

The ginger kicked the sand as only to yelp as his foot stubbed into a hidden rock.
-

The rest of the day Jack solked near castle rock. Occasionally the salty waves would reach up and touch the heels if his feet as his back leaned against a rock.

The breeze swayed his curls side to side with his eyes glued to the pink frosted horizon.

The world was so easy back then, waking up, attending school, singing choir, repeat. Sure, staying the islands was freedom from the boring days but the aggression in him began to grow each day.

Jack's view of the sky was then covered by a blonde boy, looking pissed as ever. He blinked a couple times before standing up to leave.

"And where do you think you're going." Ralph yanked Jack back by his shoulder, breaking his silence.

"Where I'm going?! Anywhere from you- minger!" That wasn't true but he was proving a point, in his own way.

"How about you go check on the damn slug! That's all you seem to care about now a days! Or that bloody awful fire!"

"What are you talking about?!"

"You know what 'chief'" he quoted with his fingers. Before he could curse him out, sand flew at his face.

"Bloody hell!" To his luck, some of the sand got in his eyes, making him fall back and hitting his head on a rock.

"Shit, I'm sorry Jack! I just wanted you to stop." Ralph sat on top of him, straddling him, while pulling his freckled hands from his face.

He ever so lightly blew on his eyes, getting the grains out of his eyelashes. Both of Ralph's hands were on Jack's face, smearing his paint.

The ginger grabbed his wrists, pulling them away gently while fluttering his eyes open. "I'm fucking fine now-.."

Ralph's face was a lot closer then it ever has been, his emerald eyes staring straight into his blues.

He couldn't help but to almost get lost in them, seeing the different shades of greens blended around his pupil.

Blood flushed in his cheeks, the dried paint covered it.

"Can you please come back with me, others are wondering where you are." His voice was so faint you could barely hear over the foamy waves.

Jack could only nod, his lips ajar while his thumbs rubbed into Ralph tanned, rough hands.

The blonde adjusted his hips and raised himself slightly over Jack, making him almost submit to him. His breathing became shallow as his heart sped up.

His hands slid from his arms to his shirt, every so slowly pulling him in.

"Ralph?! The littleun's are running off again!"

Ralph growl through his lips, standing up, seeing Piggy looking like a lost puppy. His face was visibly pink.

Jack poked his head up behind the rock, his brows frowed. Piggy looked between the two, putting the puzzle pieces together.

"Oh... I- you found Jack!" He swallowed seeing Jack slide his legs from beneath Ralph and stand. "You should run along little piggy.. before the beast gets you." A wicked smile traced his lips.

Within a second, Piggy was gone.

Ralph flicked Jack on the head, earning a whine. "You head to the fire with the big'uns, I'm gonna go fine the little'uns."

"Of course.. Ralph."
