Authors Note: We're so sorry this update has taken so long. We had every chapter planned out for the story, and then we lost it. So we spent all last night redoing it, and are finally ready to start the final chapters for Luke and Katelyn. This story is a lot shorter than the others as it's just a filler for what happens after they graduate. It'll only be about 10 chapters, so we hope you enjoy:) Love you guys<3 Vote and comment!

Chapter 1: Home-Phillip Phillips
Kate's POV:
"Luke Hemmings" the President of the university called out. I smiled as I saw him rise from his seat and walk towards the stage. He accepted his diploma and shook the hands of various faculty, before spotting me in the crowd and giving me a wink.

It was beautiful outside beneath the canopy that was placed above us, the fresh spring air lightly blowing my hair around. We weren't even half way through the alphabet, but I couldn't contain the sense of excitement and impatience for the ceremony to end. We did it. Another four long and hard years of schooling over with. The idea gave me both a feeling of sadness and adventure. We were on our own now, officially thrown into the world of adulthood. It scared me thinking we would no longer have a security blanket to shield us from the harsh realities of the world, like getting jobs and paying bills, but I also couldn't wait to finally start my life with my incredible fiancée.

We had been engaged for a year now, but we agreed we didn't want to rush into anything. There was time to get situated back home, to find a new apartment and jobs for ourselves. Besides, I didn't mind being known as the "Future Mrs. Luke Hemmings."

I smiled at the thought, remembering the night he proposed. I can honestly say I was not expecting what awaited me behind our front door. I assumed he was stressed out about Taylor and Ashton's wedding, not about asking me to marry him. We probably should have waited a few more years, like my dad said, but Luke and I had been through enough together to last us a lifetime. We've been there through thick and thin, the good and the bad, even in death we've stayed by each other's side. We were already an old married couple, just without a paper to officially say so.

"Congratulations to the graduating class. We wish you all the best of luck in your future." The President announced, which unleashed a loud roar of applause from the audience. We stood up, and in following the tradition, removed our caps and threw them in the air. I watched the sea of black fall from the sky, looking back down to meet two blue eyes starring at me brightly.

"We did it, baby!" I laughed as he picked me up by the waist and swung me around. He placed me back down and kissed me sweetly.

"I'm so proud of you." He whispered, his forehead pressed against mine.

"I'm proud of you too."

I was about to kiss him again, but was interrupted by the shrill of excitement escaping my mom and Liz's mouths as they approached us. They both had tear stained faces, Kleenex in hand. Luke gave me a look of understanding before returning his mothers embrace. I did the same with my mom, and a now very tall, 10 year old Drew. It was a little sad that my much younger brother towered over my short height. Why couldn't I be blessed with those genes? He smiled and handed me a bouquet of pink roses.

"I can't believe you guys are all grown up. College, careers, a wedding.. Oh God when did we get so old?" Cindy said, looking at Liz smiling, though I could see a hint of panic in her eyes. I rolled mine and told them we'd see them later tonight after we finished the last bit of packing. They kissed us goodbye, and congratulated us one more time. I had a feeling we'd be hearing a lot more of that from the both of them now that'd we'd be moving back home.

I wasn't thrilled about the idea of moving in with Liz, but it was only temporary until we found a place of our own. I loved our apartment down here, but we agreed that being closer to home and family was where we belonged. The four of us had spent the last few weeks moving things back and forth, leaving only the bare essentials, which pretty much consisted of clothes, an uncomfortable air mattress, and Duke's doggy bed.
