Steve awakens in an oak forest the sun had just started to rise.
Steve POV
"Where am I?" I asked out loud.
I stood up, dusted myself off, and looked around. I could see a small village nearby and headed there to try and find some answers.
When I got close I could see damage to the houses and shops and picked up the pace. When I finally entered the village I could see the full extent of the damage.
"What happened here?" I questioned.
Upon searching the entire village and finding no one, I made use of the materials and items left behind. While scavenging I found a cartography shop with a map of the surrounding area on a cartography table. Looking closely I could see a large village to the north, not too far away. I grabbed the map and left the shop about to head to the next village but noticed it was getting dark. I made a small hut just outside of the abandoned village and as I finished I heard something behind me make a low growl. I turned around and saw a zombie. I darted into my makeshift house and barricaded the door.
"That was close," I said.
I slept through the night to dawn. Before opening the door I checked to make sure the coast was clear then I made my way north. I reached the next village a little after midday. This one has not been damaged at all, in fact was bustling with multiple villagers and was much bigger. I approached a farmer working in a field just outside of the village.
"Hello," I greeted.
"Oh, hello traveler," The farmer excitedly greeted.
"Where can I find the market?" I asked.
"Go down this road at the end take a right, continue for three houses turn left, and the market will be at the end," The farmer said.
"Ok, thank you," I said.
I followed the farmers' instructions to the market and when I got there I was amazed. All kinds of stalls and shops were selling all types of items.
"Hello, could I interest you in some nice armor?" An armor merchant asked. "I have diamond armor, full set will cost 80 emeralds."
"That's a little steep for me right now," I answered. "Where can I find the village chief?"
"He is in the large house in the middle of town, follow this road and you can't miss it," the armor merchant said pointing in the direction I needed to go.
"Thank you," I said as I started to make my way there.
When I arrived I saw two iron golems at the front door but what caught my eye was the complexity and size of the house. When I entered the house I was greeted by a secretary.
"Hello, you must be new," She said.
"Yes, I would like to speak with the village chief," I said.
"Please follow me," She said standing up from the desk.
She led me to an office on the second floor. We entered the room.
"Thank you, Rose," The chief said. "Hello, I am the village chief John,"
"My name is Steve, it's a pleasure to meet you," I said.
"Have a seat, what did you want to talk about?" John asked.
I asked about the abandoned village to the south and explained that I had just woke up in an oak forest not too far from there with no memory of how I got there or how long I was there.
"Interesting, I'm not sure about what could have happened to your memory," John answered. "That village had been abandoned for many years, it was a trade town at one point but that's all I know about it."
"Ok, thank you for your time," I said.
I left the house and left the village. I built a more permanent house just outside of the village. I had finished the bottom floor as night fell. I went to bed.Dream
"Great work Steve, we will make you a builder in no time," an unknown yet familiar male voice praised.
The dream changed to a different one.
"Steve!" An unknown yet familiar female voice yelled. "What are you..."Reality
The dream was cut short by the sound of someone knocking on the door of my house.
"Hello," I said opening the door.
"Hello, my name is Kyle, I couldn't help but notice how fast you made your house here," Kyle said. "You have talent."
"Thank you," I said.
"You should see about joining the village building crew," Kyle said.
"I will, thank you," I said heading to the village chief's house.
When I got there I asked if I could join the building crew and he obliged.
I made my way through the town and arrived at the village building crew's office. I entered and was greeted by Kyle.
"Hey, I see you made it," he said.
"Yes, I am ready to help out any way I can," I said.
