As Judas stood upon the chair beneath him, his mind faded back to his wasted life.
He had been nothing but a burden to those around him. Everything he did, all the strength he had, all the tears he shed, all the blood he bled meant nothing to those around him.
If he lost a fight, he was weak. When he won, he was punished for showing off. Nothing he could do would please the people in his life, but maybe now. Maybe with this- with this he hoped he could finally appease their expectations.
His throat felt dry as he palmed the rope in his hands. It was now or never.
And so he placed the brown rope around his neck, absentmindedly complaining at how itchy the stray fibres were. A cruel laugh fell from his lips, even now, as his life was moments away from ending, he was complaining. How pathetic.
Taking his last step forward the chair beneath him toppled to one side, leaving him with no support as the rope tightened around his neck, and yet as his throat was burning for air, as his lungs were screaming for release, he didn't feel the relief he hoped. No, in fact it was the opposite; he hated this world, he hated his family, he hated the way he was bought up. He hated everything, instead of feeling relief he felt burning rage that made him forget the pain his body was experiencing. He didn't want to die- he wanted revenge.
Shit.
He didn't want to die.
Panic began to run through his body, his nerves burning with the many emotions he was feeling. He couldn't stop this, he couldn't escape. Even in his last moments he was trapped- a mere slave to his parents.
His vision began to dim, his eyes burning with tears he couldn't let fall. This really was the end for him, he was born and killed by his parents behaviour. He knew he was dying but he couldn't stop thinking of the 'what if's that he missed out on in his life.
What if he was born to loving parents?
What if he was born with the power to make his parents be proud of him?
What if he had a happy, fulfilling life? What if, what if, what if.
It was all useless, it was too late for Judas to wish anymore as his vision finally faded to black, a single tear betraying him as it rolled down his face.
What a waste.
Huh..? He was sure he had just died yet he could still think, not only think but hear, the proof of that was the unfamiliar voice that plagued his mind. It wasn't his own- he was sure of that. But he wasn't sure of who, or what the voice belonged to. At one moment it seemed to be an old man, voice laced with power, and the next moment it was a young girl, innocence leaking from her voice.
Judas tried to call out but found that he couldn't speak, his mouth parted and yet no sound fell from his lips.
"Ah~ You're awake Judas?"
What was the point in asking questions when he couldn't answer..? As if the voice could read his mind it let out a laugh that sent shivers down what Judas believed to be his body, not that he could feel it.
"Do not worry young one, I am not interested in harming you. I am what the people of Earth called 'God', a name not many call me now." The voice laughed again, and although Judas could not determine what the voice was, he could determine that whatever it was, it was sad.
Once again, as if the voice read Judas' mind it continued to speak.
"The world was cruel to you, my child, your soul did not deserve to go to such a place. I am sorry it took me so long to reach you, but my power is fading. You shall be my last creation, Judas, you shall be reborn to the world which your heart desires. You will be born to a beautiful family, your mother will be Emiko Murakami, formerly known as Emiko Hirano before she married your father, Hiroshi Murakami. You will be known as Katsuo Murakami. The world you are to be born to will be an unfamiliar world where magic and swordsmanship rule the grounds. I shall allow you to keep the memories of your previous life, along with granting you the singular ability of creation magic. You should be able to figure out how to correctly use it."
Almost as if inhaling, the voice paused, allowing Judas to take in all of the information that was just thrown at him, it was a lot but his mind could keep up with it. Just as he was accepting his new fate, the voice began once again.
"Judas, no, Katsuo, I will not be here long, I have no time to explain everything, forgive me."
Suddenly Judas felt his body again, it was smaller than he remembered- ah. That's because it wasn't the body he remembered, and yet as soon as he regained his ability to move his body, his vision was clouded by an illuminated figure. Judas couldn't make out a body but assumed it was the voice that had been speaking to him all this time, he wishes he could thank the voice for giving him a second chance at life but he ended his life for a reason. He didn't want to live anymore. To give a second life to someone who had ended it seems.. Wrong.
Snapping away from his thoughts he stared at the rapidly approaching figure, why did he ask to be forgiven just moments ago? It confused him, why did he do tha- his thoughts was stolen from his mind as his whole body once again began to burn. The closer the light got, the worse the pain became.
"You must endure it, my child. The longer you stay conscious and allow my power to fill your veins, the stronger you shall become. Focus, Katsuo Murakami, for this is your one and only chance at getting the power you wish for."
