It's been weeks since that day and I've stopped talking to him.
That doesn't mean I've stopped seeing him.
I run into the kitchen with my toothbrush in my mouth.
I put my shoes on. I go over to the sink take my toothbrush out and spit. "Slow down we still have an hour left" Mary Margaret states. "Ya you've got plenty of time before school" "no I have to be there at 7:15 i have to talk to principal Wethers" I state.
"I'm sure if you're five minutes late he'll live" "we have a new student coming in" i state.
I leave slamming the door.
I walk into Grannies. I sit down and take out my sketch pad. I flip to an unfinished page. I check my hair and make up in a spoon.
I see him come in my reflection and put it down. I pretend to draw.
I look at him until he begins to turn his head. "Good morning" I look up pretending I didn't notice him.
"Morning" I greet twirling my pencil.
"I should go I'm gonna be late for work" he states.
"Animal shelter how's it going" I ask.
"Well the apes haven't taken over" "yet" he laughs.
"Not on my watch" I laugh.
He leaves. And I see him kiss Kathryn.

"This is having a meeting" "I was just-" "I get it" Emma says sitting down.
"He comes here every morning at 7:15 to get coffee" "fir him and his wife" she states.
"I know I know I know I just like to come here to see him" "so you're a stalker" she asks.
"Technically no" "yes" Ruby answers walking to another table.
My mouth drops at her. "Okay ya maybe but it's not like I'm following him around like some lost puppy I just happen to know he spends his mornings with Kathryn gets coffee then drives to the animal shelter to start work at 7:30" I shrug.
"Then he's gone around 5:00" I state.
"Oh is that all" she asks sarcastically.
"Thursdays they pick up Chinese for dinner" she gives me a tight lipped smile.
"I get him out of my brain" "I know maybe the first step is not showing up here tomorrow" she suggests.
"Love sucks I wish there was a magic cure" she nods.
