I stand on a ladder putting up a birdhouse. I had made it earlier.
"Did you not get the invite" I hear a familiar voice. I turn to David.
"David" I hold the birdhouse. "Here" he hoods the fence. He holds his hand out and I give him the birdhouse.
Then he takes my hand and helps me off the ladder.
He steps on it and puts it up. "So I heard you resigned from the hospital was it me," he asks. "Because of what I told you" I press my lips together as he steps down.

"I don't know L," I ask him.
"Mhm," he takes the pad and writes it down. "Two of them" he states.
I chuckle. "Get it yet" "ya and I'm so fucking embarrassed" I run a hand through my hair.
"I almost hanged on my own name" "don't worry I would never let you hang" he states.
"I would've added toes a hat maybe a horse" he jokes.

"Was this a game you played a lot before?" I ask. "I don't know" "they'll come back they're sending you home in a week they have to have reason to believe you're improving right" I suggest.
"Physically" "well you're making new memories just fine," I say trying to reassure him.
"Maybe I like these better" he flirts with me a little.
"Wanna play again," I ask. "Can I guess too" I turn and see Kathryn.
"Kathryn" he stands up.
"Is it noon already didn't know" I state. "I should get going" "good day Stella," she says sweetly.
I grab my bag and head to the door.
I sign out.
I look over at him and he's smiling at her.
