𝐒elina was a very nice woman and Elowen positively loved her. The older woman had welcomed her with open arms, and yes Darius's father was a little strict. But, Michael had given her a charming smile and also welcomed her into their home.
And now she sat at the dinner table with the older brunette, both watching their partners work on the grill. Elowen could feel a warm sensation bubbling at her chest, and it slowly caused a small smile to appear on her face.
“He really cares for you.” She looked over to Selina who was smiling, but still kept her eyes on the boys. “I've never seen Darius get so frazzled over a female before. You make him happy.”
“And he makes me happy.” Elowen confessed, running a hand over her forearm as it laid on the table. “But, can I ask you something?”
Selina hummed, and finally turned her gaze towards the human. “Are you really okay with this, Selina? With me being a human?”
“Ahh, you think his hatred may be tied to something he heard as a child.” The brown eyed woman sighed and she placed her mug down.
“I don’t mean offense, but that's usually the case.” Elowen looked down and fiddled with her fingers when Selina turned back to the boys. “I just want to make sure you and Michael are completely fine with it.”
The older woman went silent and Elowen looked down, hoping she hadn’t ruined anything.
“While me and my husband have a distaste for humans, we never let it deter from raising Darius with a clear mind for them.” She suddenly took on a sour face. “I’m afraid Darius had an experience that left him loathsome towards them.”
“What happened? If you don’t mind me asking?” Elowen tilted her head and frowned sadly when Selina lightly shook her head.
“I can not tell you everything that happened that night.” Selina bit her lip, then a nostalgic smile came over her lips. “It’s almost comical.”
