09 | Winter Falls

We never did get any work for the project done that day. I should've known, I tend to get too ahead of myself.

Instead, we focused on catching up on everything we missed out on. Taehyun and I also spent lost alone time together. I felt the emptiness in my being slowly dissipate, being replaced with Taehyun's presence instead. I felt complete for the first time in years.

The first week the five of us were seen all together, people instantly assumed that Taehyun and I were back together.

There were people congratulating us and whatnot. Even people coming forward and saying they placed bets on whether or not we'd get back together.

It was kind of weird honestly, but we were back to being the most loved yet envied couple in the school. Maybe envied even more so since a lot of people said they admired how we could be broken up for so long but get back together like nothing even happened.

It was kind of laughable. If only they knew the circumstances.

Due to us spending a whole week together, we all fell a bit behind on our projects. Luckily, Taehyun and I had already written down a few lyrics for our song so it wasn't particularly hard to pick up from there.

It's now December, the last month of this semester and the month this project is due.

Taehyun and I have already recorded and put together our duo and solo songs. He hasn't heard mine yet though, I'm saving it as a surprise for later.

We're down to the last two weeks and the teacher has started letting people submit their partnered projects this week, saving the solos for next week.

Everyone was already done at this point and we spent class time listening to the songs other students made if they chose to share them. There was also an option to not share with the whole class, just the teacher. Which reminds me, I need to ask Taehyun which option we'd go for.

I softly nudge him on the shoulder and he turns to look at me, "Do you wanna let the class hear or just have the teacher be able to?"

"Um.. whatever you want."

"I'll let the whole class hear since I want to hear praise on our work." I lean back in my chair thinking about the compliments we'll get, slowly nodding at my genius thought.

"You're so egotistical," He rolls his eyes before focusing back on the song being presented.

I just lightly chuckle before refocusing as well.

In a matter of minutes, the current song has ended and the class is giving applause. The teacher grades the work and tells them what they did well, and tells what they could've done better before asking if another group wanted to share.

I nudge Taehyun's shoulder again and signal towards the front, silently asking if he wanted us to go next.

He just shrugged, and I took that as an okay to raise my hand to ask if we could go next.

"Ah, Beomgyu. You want to go next?" The teacher calls out my name, drawing attention from the class to me.

"Um- yes." I stand up and walk to the front of the class, feeling dozens of pairs of eyes following my movement. I start to feel a bit nervous but bury that emotion deep inside and hand over the flash drive with the song on it to the teacher.

"Winter Falls.. May I ask what the inspiration for this song was?"

"Well Taehyun and I made it together and it's about.. well, u-us."

"Ah, makes sense. I heard you two had a little something going on."

I awkwardly chuckle and feel a blush creep to my face. Even the teachers knew about us.
