"My name's Stiles! You guys are..?"

"I'm Scott! This is my younger sister Rowan."

"By 10 seconds!"

7-year-old Stiles Stilinski did not question their banter as he watched them take a seat at his table. The homeroom teacher Ms. Lily had assigned them there and neither of them minded.

"So you guys are twins?" Stiles asked with wide eyes, the other two 7-year-olds just nodded their heads and placed their bags on the ground.

"That's so cool! I've never met twins before. Can you guys like, read each other's minds?" Stiles asked wide-eyed, Scott shook his head and grinned, revealing his two missing front teeth.

"No, but we've tried before, Rowan thinks it's dumb now." Scott pouted sadly as Rowan cried in protest.

"We're not superheroes Scott! Only people like Professor X can do that." Rowan huffed, but young Stiles sat up straighter in his chair and looked over at the girl.

"You read the X-men?" The girl nodded and narrowed her eyes.

"Yes, and I think people who don't are stupid."

Stiles grinned dorkily at the 2 McCall siblings and it what at that moment, that very moment, as they sat down at their small table in Ms. Lily's homeroom talking about X-men, they knew they were all going to be best friends for a very long time.

As the three of them grew older, it just seemed as if their bond just kept growing stronger. The boys had started to shoot up and by the time they were 14, they were already close to 5'6 ft and were still growing taller by the day.

Rowan had stopped growing at 5'3 ft and the boys had teased her endlessly about her height for a long time.

They didn't do anything without each other. The three of them had gone to middle school together and soon they were starting high school together.

Stiles and Scott had grown to be each other's best friends and cared for Rowan tremendously the same way Rowan had grown to become protective of the two boys.

They easily picked on Stiles because he tended to be clumsy and talked excessively, and Scott because he just never knew how to stand up for himself.

Rowan took up the role of the mom of the group, always first to stand up and speak up for the boys. The girl learned self-defense from Noah Stilnski whenever they visited the station and eventually, people in their middle school knew not to mess with their group unless they wanted to face the wrath of Rowan McCall.

the three of them were inseparable, always there for each other and never letting anything get in the way of them.

Even when Rowan got into a fight with the two because they had ruined her science project that was due the next day, the boys spent that very night redoing the project they broke.

They didn't get any sleep that night but they didn't care. When Rowan woke up the next morning to see the boys practically asleep as they ate breakfast and her newly done project on the table she squealed and hugged them so tightly. and that was when they both knew they would do anything to see a smile on the girl's face.

There was another time in middle school, some kids had Stiles and Scott cornered as they asked for lunch money. Rowan saw and with no hesitation went flying down the hallway and threw the kids to the ground.

Stiles and Scott watched as their best friends threatened the kids menacingly, saying if they ever came near them again she wouldn't hesitate to scratch their eyes out. when they scampered away she faced her boys with a smile and they smiled back just as grateful.

On Rowan and Scott's 14 birthday, she was woken up that morning the same way she was every birthday. The boys walked into her room carrying her usual birthday pancakes, singing the Happy Birthday song obnoxiously loudly and out of tune till the girl finally gave in and woke up.

They sat on either side of her in the bed and watched as she blew out the candle on top of the pancakes but just as she made a move to eat them Stiles quickly placed them on her vanity and Scott placed a small box on her lap.

Rowan whined about wanting to eat but the two boys kept insisting on her opening up the box, they wouldn't stop prodding her about it so she did. The girl gasped when she saw the new red leather jacket in the box and held it in her hands. Not long again she eyed the jacket when she saw it in one of the windows as she went window shopping with her mom and Scott.

She never bought it since she couldn't afford it so as she held it she whipped her head to Scott and asked how they paid for it.

Scott just explained how he has saved up everything of what he earned from his new job at the vet and Stiles has promised his dad a year's worth of chores and thy scraped their money together to get her the jacket.

Rowan McCall didn't know what to say as she felt tears well up in her eyes and she pulled the both of them into a group hug.

The love their group had for each other was enough to fill a canyon. They knew they wouldn't let anything happen to one another, that they were always going to love each other and were always going to be best friends.

From that day on, Rowan Mccall never left the house without that jacket. When she started high school, people called her "little red" because of her size and her jacket. It just made her seem more menacing as she walked down the halls.

But to those who knew her, Rowan was nothing but a sweetheart who loved photography and dancing in the rain.

But like the story, the sweet little red eventually ran into a big bad wolf.

Rowan McCall just didn't know that he was the same wolf that would potentially open her heart...

or crush it.
