FOR ONCE, ROWAN MCCALL WAS PEACEFULLY ASLEEP.

And that was rare because the past few days had been hectic for the girl.

Ever since the night Stiles Stilinski dragged the McCall twins to search for a body, the three teenagers got sucked into the world of the supernatural and there was no going back.

Less than a few days ago they had witnessed Peter Hale murder Kate Argent, and right after that, they watched Derek Hale murder Peter.

Lydia Martin had also been bitten by Peter and was currently still in the hospital, where Rowan and Stiles slept.

Rowan slept seated upright on the chair on his left while Stiles was sprawled over the rest of the bench.

Even though Rowan had gotten a peaceful sleep, the girl didn't dream that night. It was one of those slumbers where you didn't dream of anything, where your mind was blank.

But anything was better than the horrible nightmares she had gotten ever since she saw Lydia lying bloody on the football field.

Melissa McCall watched the two teenagers with a smile, she didn't have the heart to move them. They looked so peaceful. Lydia's father left her room and gave Stiles an odd glance at the way he lay down on the benches.

"He's been here all night?" Lydia's dad asked Melissa uncertainty, pointing at Stiles.

Rowan's presence didn't phase him, he had seen the girl visit his house countless times to hang out with Lydia or drop school work off when she was sick.

The two girls had been good friends since freshman year ever since Lydia told Rowan she loved her jacket.

Sure they were no Lydia and Allison, or anything like Stiles, Scott, and Rowan but they were still close enough for Rowan to know Lydia was a genius and not at all a spoiled brat that people thought she was.

"He's been here all weekend"

Eventually, Stiles Stilinski woke up with a jolt. His foot accidentally kicked Rowan in the shoulder and the girl groaned.

"God Stiles, what are you trying to do? Dislocate it?" Rowan grumbled as she rubbed her shoulder, Stiles sent her an apologetic wince and patted her head before getting up.

Rowan sighed and did the same, she walked towards her mom who kissed her on the cheek and handed her some cash.

"You kids go get yourself a snack, you guys are probably starving from waiting here all night," Melissa said with a smile.

Before Rowan could reject her mom's money and use her own, Stiles was already grabbing her by the arm and pulling her down the corridor.

"yeah we are, thanks, Melissa!" Stiles yelled as they got further away from her.

Rowan shot the boy a glare and pinched his arm "pig" she muttered but Stiles just sent the girl a grin. They stopped in front of the vending machine.

Rowan inserted the dollar bill and pressed the number for the Milk chocolate Hershey bar and watched as it fell into the slot below. She grabbed her bar and the extra change before handing the coins to Stiles for him to get his snack.

The boy gazed at the different options before placing the coins inside and pressing in the code of the Reeses, they watched as the machine whirred and pushed out the Reeses but just as it was about to drop the machine stopped and the Reeses got stuck.

Rowan bit back a laugh as Stiles groaned in annoyance and started hitting the machine, trying to make the packet fall. Stiles turned to the girl and she raised a brow.
