Oh Joshua!

Now, storytime

After tucking Joshua comfortably into his bed, Seungcheol closes the bedroom door and goes downstairs to see Jeonghan waiting while smoking a cigarette. 

"Where'd you get a cigarette in my house?" 

Jeonghan smirks, "I've hidden an emergency stock somewhere,"

Seungcheol rolls his eyes at that. 

"Now, storytime," says Jeonghan sitting on the armrest of the sofa, "Who is he really? Is he adopted?"

"What the hell? No," Seungcheol scowls, "He's a human and he's not adopted,"

"Then how in the great heavens did he create such a big ruckus?"

"He's innocent! He didn't do anything. . . he's not even aware of his condition,"

"So, what is it?!"

Seungcheol takes a big breath and sighs. He waits for some moments, finding words to explain, then starts, "He was cursed-"

"Cursed?"

"By a witch-"

"Witch? What are you rambling? Do witches even exist?"

Seungcheol gives him an expressionless face, "Says a vampire,"

The phrase punches Jeonghan in the heart, "G-Go on. Why would a witch curse him?"

 "It was a foolish mistake by Grandpa,"

"That old boozer?"

"Yeah, it's a long story,"

"I've all the time of the world,"

"Well . . ." Seungcheol sighs, "It was before Joshua was even born," he says sliding a stool chair and sitting on it, "So, once upon a time-"

"Do you seriously have to start with that?"

"Hush." Seungcheol says putting a finger on his mouth, "So, once upon a time, there used to be a witch's coven in the woods behind Grandpa's cottage. It was the time when witch hunting was on its verge, people used to detest them so much, burn them, slaughter and torture them in every way possible,"

"Hm, go ahead," Jeonghan takes a puff. 

"Grandpa had a drinking habit since the beginning. So one night, in his drunken state, he went into the woods. The witches must have been going to perform some ritual, there was just their stuff on the earth but they were not around. Wandering here and there, Grandpa found it, he got spooked seeing those skulls, bonfires, other totems, etc. So he poured his booze over everything and spoiled their sacred circle in their absence,"

 "Fuckin tippler," Jeonghan laughed, "Okay, what happened after that?"

"The head witch of the coven saw him, she thought he was a witch hunter and has come to kill them. She was already so raged because of all the killings going around. So . . . instead of cursing every witch hunter, she cursed him. Actually not him, she indirectly cursed Joshua,"

"W-Wait . . . how? You said he wasn't even born then,"

"He was in his mother's womb at that time. She was seven months pregnant with him,"
