The rest of the school day passed by in a blur. I ended up having all of my classes with Zay, which made it easy to get around. We would get lost in conversation in the hallways. I sat with him and a few of his friends at lunch, and he introduced me to them. They were nice, and I could tell they were happy Zay made a new friend.

The rest of the day after lunch went by so fast that I almost don't remember it. When the bell finally rang, I met Zander at his locker after putting my stuff away.

"Hey how was your first day?" He asked me.

"It actually went really well. I made a friend and I'm hanging out with him tonight if it's okay with mom."

"That's good. What's his name?"

"Zay."

"Oh, I know him. Hope you have fun when you see him."

"Thanks."

We left after Zander got his things. When we got home, Allison gave us both a hug and asked me how school went, if I liked it, and if I had made any friends yet. I told her about Zay and asked her if I could see him tonight because of the project. She agreed and I smiled.

Right before five or so, we started to set up my new phone. It was a super easy process and we got it done quickly. I got Zay's number from Zander and texted him.

Me: Hey it's Mia!

Zay: Hey! I'll probably be there to get you around six if that's okay? I ordered us a pizza and I'm gonna pick it up on my way to get you.

Me: Yeah that's fine. I'll be ready. My address is 2024 Hucker Road.

Zay: Okay! I'll be there by six.

Me: Okay.

I went up to my room to shower. When I was done I got changed into some joggers and a T-Shirt that said "NIRVANA" on it, with the band logo as well. Soon enough it was six o'clock and I got a text from Zay saying he was there to get me. I ran downstairs and reminded Allison that I was leaving. I gave her a quick hug and grabbed my black sweater. I walked out the door and waved at Zay. I walked over to his car and got in.

"Hey," I said.

"Hey," he responded.

He backed out of my driveway carefully and we were on our way to his house.

"How has your night been?" He asked me.

"It's been alright. What about yours?"

"Better now that you're here."

I blushed at that and looked down before he could see it. But he caught a glimpse of it as I turned away.

"Aww someone's blushing," he teased.

"Shut up," I responded while smiling and looking out the window. Out of nowhere, I felt him touch my hand as if he wanted to hold it, but he pulled away.

"I-I'm sorry," he stuttered.

"It's okay," I said and nodded for him to go ahead. He reached for my hand again, and this time held it. I smiled slightly, thinking about how I had never felt like this before. I've only known this boy for a day, and he already has this effect on me...
