babyelwilson: A few weeks after I met Shawn, I knew in my heart he would be the man I would end up marrying. I was 17 when me and Shawn started dating, a month shy of graduating from high school. He was my first boyfriend. At the time, I had no idea all the things our relationship would endure over the course of the next several years. We had several very public breakups, the internet dragging our names through the mud because of our breakups, but the most difficult thing we had to endure was the loss of our son. We were very young when I got pregnant and we were terrified, but we were ready to do the parenting thing. We had no idea that we would never get to be parents to our boy. The look on Shawn's face when we were told Sebastien didn't have a heartbeat will be engraved in my mind forever. After we lost Seb, our relationship fell apart and we decided to go our separate ways. At that time, I didn't feel like there was any hope for us in the future. I didn't want "us" anymore. By the grace of God, we found our way back to each other. And then Shawn proposed and I said yes. I am marrying the man I knew I'd marry at 17. Even though we've been through some rough patches over the last almost 4 years, deep down I always knew I would marry him. I'm so thankful for this man. And that goddamn smile.
I can not wait to marry you Shawn.
