-Whitty POV-
Ouch.
I slowly pulled myself up from the rubble surrounding me.
Did I just... blow up?
All around me I could see heaps of garbage on fire, and everything burnt and destroyed. Painfully, I got to my feet. I stumbled through the destruction, hardly knowing where my feet were taking me. Something in the corner caught my eye. Upon closer inspection, it was a body, still breathing and warm. It was bleeding badly from a cut on the head, but it was still alive.
Picking it up, I glanced around before sprinting out of the alley. Behind me, posters and signs were burning and hanging loose. It didn't take long before I realized what kind of damage I had done. Feeling weak all of a sudden, I had to lean the body against a wall while the harsh reality of what had happened sank in.
"You were meant to be a weapon of mass destruction, and you always will be."
The last words from Doctor Gabriel Updike to me repeated itself over and over.
'No more of this,' I told myself, struggling to control my feelings. But what if he was right? I always thought I was meant for more than that. And now I had blown up an entire alley and injured a random stranger.
But I still had time to make this right.
Picking the body back up, I ran all the way back to my hideout. I burst open the door, and quickly placed it on the couch, fully ignoring the fact that blood was dripping on the floor. Luckily, a trip to the cupboard managed to yield some bandages and ointment. I cleaned and bandaged the wound the best I could, getting blood on my hands and the couch in the process.
When I was finished, I sat down on the part of the couch that didn't have bloodstains and sighed.
I looked over at the girl (was it a girl? I wondered.). She looked normal, except she had 2 wolflike ears and what seemed like a... tail?
It didn't matter. After living for over 20 years in a town where walking computers and lemon heads were commonplace nothing was weird anymore.
-Sabrina POV-
Everything seemed like a bad dream.
I felt like I had been sucked into an endless void of darkness. It was like I was in an endless tunnel, floating around aimlessly in the depths. Without warning, the tunnel started to spiral. It spun faster and faster, and the end got closer and closer...
-Whitty POV-
Her eyes flew open all of a sudden. I nearly screamed. It took her awhile to figure out what happened, and she glared at me with her bicolored eyes.
"Where am I? What did you do to me?"
Her blue eye started to glow a deep red, along with her (already red) eye. She lunged at me, only to fall back down on the couch, holding her head and whining softly. Wide-eyed, all I could get out was a series of shaky breaths.
She tried to force herself up by one elbow, only to fall off the couch in a faint. Despite myself, I managed to catch her as she fell. I quietly placed her back on the couch and covered her with a large blanket that I took from my bed. I managed to stumble over to the broken armchair in the corner and fell fast asleep.
-Sabrina POV-
When I woke up, the room was still dark. I thought that it was still night, but a glimmer of light which showed through the ceiling proved otherwise. I tried to get up, but a jolt of pain rushed through my head, forcing me back down. At the same time, the jumbled memories of last night all came back in an instant. The rap battle, the taller one blowing up...
