-Narrator POV-
Suddenly, a commotion outside the door made them both jump. Male voices could be heard shouting orders and loud trucks were rumbling by. Sabrina thought that maybe they were outside some sort of army camp, but a glance at Whitty told her otherwise.
His eyes were wide open, and sweat poured down his face and neck. Before Sabrina could ask him what in the world was going on, Whitty started running around the room, throwing random objects into a backpack.
"We have to leave," he said in a panicked tone of voice, zipping the bag shut.
When Sabrina didn't make any effort to get up, he yanked her from the couch, and fairly shouted:
"NOW!"
Dragging her by the arm, Sabrina could hear short snatches of conversation from outside.
"Well Doctor I hope you're sure of what you're doing."
A deep British voice, belonging clearly to the one addressed as 'Doctor', said in reply, "I'm sure of it. Last night... heat signature... detected near this area... similar to the Experiment..."
While Sabrina was listening to this fascinating snippet of conversation, Whitty was in the process of breaking down the back door. When he finally succeeded, he lifted Sabrina in his arms (she still couldn't walk yet) and rushed out into the alley.
-Whitty POV-
HELP
MUST... RUN... FASTER...
!!!
I sprinted down the alleyway, turned into an abandoned parking lot, ran straight through it, and jumped over a fence.
And landed right into hell.
-Sabrina POV-
I had always wanted superpowers.
You know, fly, jump really high, stuff like that. Not that kind which I already had.
But in the last minute when Whitty had grabbed me and booked it, I thought to myself, in a rather bumpy way:
is flying then get used to
this I never it
If will !!!
All of a sudden he stopped dead. We were completely surrounded by soldiers, all holding guns and bearing down on us.
Oh no. We are SO dead.
-Narrator POV-
They two parties stood motionless for what seemed like hours, each side not daring to make a move for fear of immediate danger. Sabrina was thinking of what would she do if she was caught. It was so, so much worst for Whitty. He simply couldn't process the fact that his new life had been discovered so much sooner than he had expected. The thought of being hauled back to the factory in which he had been born was suffocating.
Random memories of an odd, cylinder-shaped glass cage swam before his mind. He remembered the screams of pain and the endless, trapped feeling that was so large a part of his young life.
