𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞

the next morning it was belly's sweet sixteen and i had bought her an arrangement of cute clothes and a heart locket with a place for pictures to go. she loved it and gave me a big hug after. jere gave her a good luck charm, steven gave her a princeton sweater, and conrad gave her a bracelet. she was very thankful and i was glad conrad actually got her something considering last night. jere and belly went to get taylor and i went swimming in the pool. conrad had left and i guessed to go hang out with nicole so i was glad to be by myself. enjoying the beach house alone was one of the best things that had happened so far this summer and that's because i'd already got a killer bruise and fought with my ex-boyfriend who i was still in love with twice. taylor, belly, jere, and steven then showed up and started playing in the pool. i sat on a lounger and read my book while watching them. taylor must have bought belly a new bikini because we didn't pick that one out when packing. then conrad arrived with nicole as i suspected, great, fun time was over. that's what i thought until taylor smacked a ball into nicole's face. i held my book over my mouth to hide my smile and held in my laugh. i had to say that it was kind of funny but basically no one else did especially conrad. they left to go get ice for nicole and i went inside to go take my shower. i was passing by conrad's room and it looked like nicole and him were about to kiss but he pulled away and i caught his eye. i hurried into the bathroom and cooled myself off in the shower. why did he have to make fall in love with him with every look? i got dressed for belly's birthday dinner and belly came in and gave me my flower crown. i couldn't believe she was already 16 and now she was becoming more like me. did i want her going down the same path of partying and heartbreak? i knew belly wasnt me though she was her own person with her own decisions so i'd watch her grow as she did. cam was invited to dinner and i was excited to finally meet him. belly seemed so happy when he arrived and they had the sweetest hug taylor and i were freaking out over it. we all sat down to dinner and i had to be squeezed beside conrad and jeremiah because taylor took my usual seat.

the lobster for dinner was amazing but the conversation was even better, "so cam, mind if i call you cam cameron," jere started.

"yeah man feel free, it's funny," he laughed.

"i'm glad you're here cameron, i know your mom, denise, from the club. ive heard a lot about you," susannah said.

"thank you so much for having me susannah. my mom says hi," cam replied.

laurel entered, "cam have you ever had miyeok guk before? its a korean birthday tradition."

"no, it looks so good, thank you," cam said.

"belly told me you're vegetarian so i didn't put any meat in it," laurel added.

"thank you laurel, that was nice," cam thanked.

"why don't you eat meat, cam cameron," jere questioned, jokingly.

"uh the meat industry is like the number one contributor to global warming," cam explained. jere made a hm sound and cam continued, "i just like animals." laurel smiled.

taylor added, "just dont come for my leather jacket."

"pretty sure you mean pleather," steven said and taylor flipped him off.

we laughed a bit and then jere continued, "you know actually belly eats meat so you let her kiss you with those lips?" i actually spit my water on my plate after he said that and conrad and i started dying laughing and he helped me wipe it up.

belly was so embarrassed, "guys."

"no i don't judge people for eating meat it's a personal choice, i don't care," cam replied.

"so you don't mind if like her lips touch a dead animal and then those dead animal lips touch your lips, right," jeremiah kept going. belly then kicked jere.
