I hear people talking next to me, but my eyes are still closed. I feel like I'm in that form of sleep where you're not awake, but not in a deep sleep yet. The voices sound muffled, I can only make out a few words. "That.....close....call..."
I black out again.
Hours later I open my eyes, I look at the ceiling above me, then around the room. It looks like I'm in a normal bedroom. As I sit up against the headboard of the bed the door opens. Casper walks in with a tray of food.
Casper walked over to the bed and placed the trap on my lap. He put a sandwich, carrots, and a glass of water on the tray for me. It definitely wasn't Nora's perfect kind of meal, but I was really hungry.
"You're finally awake, I have some clothes for you. Not to be rude or anything, but your clothes are completely destroyed. My neighbor used to have a daughter around your age, so she told me to give these to you." He says with a smile.
"Tell her I said thanks."
I take the clothes from Casper and walk to the bathroom. I change into the clothes and they actually don't look half bad. In fact they make me look kinda cool. I decide to keep on my white scarf though, it didn't get destroyed like my uniform did. I walk out of the bathroom.
"You look great!" Casper says happily.
"Yeah...so what happened?" I ask, I don't remember much except that someone was holding me.
"There was a guy dressed in black with a mask, for some reason he was trying to take you away. He said something about a key." He explained in a serious tone.
A key. Wait, like the key I found? The key with the same mark as the one on my right shoulder? Why would a random guy want a key like that?
"Where is my bag?" I ask.
Casper walks over to the desk across the room, grabs my bag, and gives it to me. I look inside the bag and see that the key is gone. I get up quickly out of bed.
"Where do you think you're going?" He asks seriously.
"I need to get that key back, it's the only lead I have."
"Lead for what?"
"Listen, I can't really explain it, but I need that key." I look him in the eye.
"Alright. I'm going with you though." He says while throwing is sword over his shoulder.
"You don't need to, I can go by myself." I respond.
"Yeah because you are really good at defending yourself, what if there is another guy dressed in black? Whatever he did made it so you go unconscious. Luckily, I was there with my sword and stopped him." Casper was looking me in the eye. "Plus, I could use a good adventure."
As much as I hate to admit, he was right. I don't know what happened back there, but I suddenly became so sleepy I blacked out. I can't believe that he actually took out a guy out with that sword of his. I guess this world has magic or something because no one in my world has super cool abilities. Casper and I walk out the front door.
"Do you have any idea where he might have gone?" I asked.
"After I struck the guy with my sword, I saw he ran toward the west. I could tell because he ran the direction that the sun was setting in."
"That's around Summer Street right?"
"Yeah, it's not too far from here."
"Let's go!"
We began running to Summer Street when we heard a loud scream. I turned my head to see the townspeople running and panicking. We stop and ask one of the people what was wrong. There was a monster in the town.
