The doom of kings and queens

In spite of her conscience's repeated warning about Limbo and the danger's that lurked in the uninterrupted darkness, she tried moving forward. Dragging herself across the faint lit path which she was sure lead her to heaven. Sure, she was devastated, injured and exhausted but she knew better than giving up. If Natsu, Rin and the others never gave up, then why would she? She had gone though so much already. It wouldn't be fair for her to surrender now; just after she had found a way out. She owed that to herself.

Minutes of silence passed as she kept on dragging herself across the ground. Pushing herself forward, one hand at the time.

Suddenly, a chuckle was heard from behind her as her father's cold hand's reached for her far too beaten up body. " Where are you going, Lucy. " He asked his daughter as he lifted her up in the air by the neck. She coughed unconsciously, trying to catch her breath. Lucy starred at him choking her for a brief moment, before spitting on his face. " This is not you. This creature, this darkness controlling you. It disgusts me. " She spat through her clenched teeth as he threw her to the ground with a loud bang, using his free arm to clean the spit out his face.

" You- " He growled in anger, his hands closed into the fists he would most likely use to punch her.

" I'm right " Lucy spoke not letting him finish talking as he came closer to her, each step he took echoing in the darkness; as if they were to be on a cave.

She always did things she knew normal people would never even think of doing. Like talking back to people, even if she was being tortured to death, she would never let the enemy ridicule her. But this time it was different. Lucy started to doubt her common sense after that; she really should have known better and kept her mouth shut when she could.

" Lucifer... is that you? " A voice called at the distance while running towards the devastating scene, stopping halfway whilst noting the true cruelty of the horrible sight in front of her eyes. " W- " She tried speaking, yet no words were able to escape her lips. " Lu- " she tried once again, her brain not being able to process what laid at plain eye sight. ' This... ' She told herself while gazing up from her bleeding daughter to the man she used to love, the only man there was to blame.  Slowly, she felt herself crumbling from the inside out as tears threatened to fall from her eyes.  " You... " she managed to say silently after several failed attempts. " You... " she repeated as her feet started moving from themselves. " You! " she shrieked, her hands formed into fists as she deployed from the ground, the wings on her back spreading as she quickly drifted through the non existent-wind with only one thought in mind. Her daughter.

Lunging forward, Layla stretched her light lit hand forward, colliding with his former lover's self light lit fist, a huge blast that send the three of them gliding through the air being the result. " How an unpleasant surprise. " He spoke bitterly while standing up once again, noting that their fight had not only caught the demon's attention but also the lost souls that wandered around had started to gather around them; probably because of the amount of light both of them were radiating. Perfect.

" What happened to you, Lucifer. This isn't the you I knew." She asked mostly to herself while her face showed nothing but odium. Her gaze wondering from his mad eyes to her hopefully only unconscious daughter, who was thrown a few meters away from both of them, facing the floor.

Layla and Lucifer circled each other, and Layla decided to make the second first move. Heading for Lucifer, she dodged a counterattack from him by ducking her head. Surprising Lucifer and seeing it as an opening, she slammed her fist into his stomach, making him slide back a few meters before he came rushing towards her once again, chanting a spell along the way and sending a beam of light shining at her making her stop, and shield herself with her arms. Once the light faded, she looked at her body, seeing steam rolling off her limbs.
