Following Orders

Rex was on his way to his post for the squad's mission on Naboo when he heard a noise coming from inside the General's quarters. Rex quietly opened the door to find General Skywalker passionately making out with Senator Amidala. Rex was shocked. Jedi weren't supposed to fall in love. General Skywalker was breaking the Jedi code. Rex stumbled away, trying to forget what he had seen, but he couldn't. Both Fives and Echo asked if he was alright. Rex waited until he saw Senator Amidala leave the General's quarters before walking in.

"General Skywalker. I have news to report." Rex said, fumbling.

"What is it, Rex?" Anakin asked.

"Sir. I witnessed you and the Senator showing affection earlier." Rex said, stone faced. Anakin's eye's widened as he grimaced and rubbed the back of his neck.

"You will forgot what you saw?" Anakin said, only halfheartedly trying a Jedi mind trick.

"I'm not weak minded, sir, with all due respect. First, I just want to say, that I am a sworn soldier of the Republic." Rex stated. Anakin looked downward; disheartened.

"But I'm also your friend. You are the reason I'm fighting in this war, Anakin. If not for you, I'd still be on Kamino. So, I guess if you were to order me to not tell anything to anyone, as your subordinate, I'll have to oblige." Rex said, smiling, as Anakin tilted his head up. Anakin smiled.

"Yes. I order you to do that." Anakin said.

"Sir yes sir." Rex said, saluting, before turning around to leave.

"Rex." Anakin said, as Rex walked out. Rex looked over his shoulder.

"Yes, general?" He asked.

"Thank you." Anakin said smiling.

"Anytime, Anakin. Anytime." Rex replied.
