Mikey tries to explain that they are saving the miracle and that it's working. His brothers were happier than they have been in years, the candle was burning brighter, the cracks were disappearing, but they aren't good enough for Grandpa Sho. He won't listen, because he has to be in control. He goes so far as to blame it all on Mikey: the cracks, Splinter leaving, Raph losing his powers, Leo acting out.

He blames it on Mikey wanting to hurt the family, because he has no gift.

The cracks spread.

"I will never be good enough for you," Mikey looks over at his two older brothers and Ms. O'Niel.

It's a realisation that should've come sooner. None of them will ever be good enough. Raph will never be strong enough. Donnie will never be smart enough. Leo will never be perfect enough. Splinter left because everyone only saw the worst in him, especially Grandpa Sho.

"Lou didn't care about this family."

"He loves this family. I love this family. We all love this family. You're the one that doesn't care. You're the one breaking our home. The miracle is dying because of you!" Mikey yells the last statement and Gram-Gram bursts into flames, a crack separating Grandpa Sho and Mikey,

Casey begins to yell, watching the crack spread to the lantern. It's flung onto its side, flickering.

Nonono.

Mikey rushes to the lantern, but he's not the only one. Donnie, on the second floor, runs, switching, but he's not enough. Leo rushes in, grabbing a vine, but both their gifts fail them and Gram-Gram catches them, rolling them over to their family. Donnie's prepares to use his Spider-Shell to climb, only to see rubble head for Milo. He dives and grabs Milo, causing them both to role out of the way.

Mikey watches the mountain split, smoke rising, but continues to climb ignoring his family's cries as Gram-Gram forces them out. He sees Splinter escape and smiles in relief, continuing his journey, the miracle is the most important possession of the family. He can't just leave-

A burst of fire shoots out the window and Mikey could swear he hears laughter as he falls backwards, tucking the candle close to his chest.

Gram-Gram catches him and shelters him the best she can. When it's over, he's covered in ash and the lantern only has a single ember left that fades quickly.

"Mikey? Are you hurt?" Leo is there, hand lifting his chin, checking him over, but they both know he's physically fine, besides the scrapes and bruises, "Miguel?"

"Leo! Come! Quick!" Casey yells in the background, but Leo hesitates, looking at Mikey's broken expression, "LEONARDO!"

"Don't move," Leo says, hearing Casey's desperation, "I'll be right back."

Mikey looks around. His home is gone. His village is exposed. His family is hurt.

It's all his fault.

Leo grabs some of his medical supplies that survived under some rubble positioned just right with a sad chuckle, "Thanks for looking out for us, Gram-Gram."

He turns to check on his little brother, but he's gone. He was only gone a moment.

"Miguel?" Leo calls, looking inside the little cave he was in before, "Mikey? Where's Mikey?"
