Indrajit was very pleased himself. He had finally destroyed the brother of his father's enemy, in a battle that had been going on for two days. Ram had killed Ravan's brother Kumbhkaran and his death had devastated Ravan to a point that he no longer wanted to live. Now Ram will have to bear that pain and anguish that Ravan did. The very thought of Ram's suffering made Indrajit's sadistic mind happy.

"Now that pathetic human, exiled man Ram will bear the same pain of losing one's brother. Uncle Kumbhakaran, Brother Atikay, this is for you!", laughed Meghnad, his laughter echoed throughout the battlefield.

He got off his golden chariot and went up to Lakshman's unconscious form which lay motionless on the ground. He violently holds Lakshman's hands, takes them to one side, and then tries to lift Lakshman's body. He wanted to take Lakshman's dead body as a souvenir of his victory to his father. He tries again and again but what's this, Lakshman's body seemed to grow heavier and heavier with every failed attempt!

"What is this? How can this hermit weigh so much?", questioned Indrajit to himself in an irritated voice. And he tries yet again to lift Lakshman but fails even this time. How stupid of Meghnad to attempt lifting the one upon whose's hood rests the earth he lives on.

Hanuman's eyes grew wide in shock as he witnessed the entire incident happen. He sees Lakshman drop to the ground writhing in pain. He had seen the agony in Lakshman's eyes as the latter lost consciousness and lay still on the bare ground. 'This can't be happening, no, no way Lakshman can't be defeated', thought Hanuman standing still with his mouth wide open and brain still trying to process what had just happened. Hanuman rushes to Lakshman's side and is infuriated to see Meghnad near Lakshman, holding the latter's hands and attempting to carry the body of Lakshman to make sure of his death.

Hanuman was disgusted at Meghnad's actions. First, he attacks a warrior from behind and then tries to kill his unconscious opponent!

"Don't you dare to touch him Meghnad! He's the mighty serpent upon whose's hood rest's the Earth. Touch him and the earth itself will bury you! ", said Hanuman in a disgusted and angry tone, "Jai Shree Ram", he cried as he hit that Demon with his mace, knocking him out cold on the battlefield for some time.

He attends to Lakshman and collects the unconscious warrior in his arms holding his back upright and trying to stop the bleeding.

"Lakshman Bhaiya, wake up, come one open your eyes Bhaiya", he said while giving Lashman a slight shake but there came no response from him in return.

An angry Hanuman pulls out the spear from Lakshman's body and throws it far away in sheer frustration. He feels something wet on his hands and it was blood, Lakshman Bhaiya's blood. 'This demon has had it', thought Hanuman mentally hating himself for not acting fast enough as he slowly picks up Lakshman's body in bridal style, careful not to hurt him more than he already is, ready to carry him to the camp for first-aid. He then sees his Yuvraj Angad running as fast as he could knowing out demons that obstructed his way straight to his unconscious human friend. There was no time to waste in useless speaking therefore Hanuman indicates the young monkey to follow.

Angad was shocked to see all that happened. He rushed towards knocking out and killing many demons on his way to reach Lakshman but Hanuman had already reached Lakshman Bhaiya and was lifting his limb body. He understands Hanuman's indication and quietly follows him to the camp.

When Angad enters the tent, he sees Lakshman laid down on a mat and the medics surrounding him. He was bleeding profusely and his blood was staining the mat underneath him. The medics tried to stop the bleeding and succeeded after much hard work, but, the wound was too deep and had to be healed fast, it would take time, and they, did not have time!
