Sai woke Naruto up at noon. Naruto's body felt so refreshed after the long sleep. He was surprised when he noticed the time.

Sai noticed Naruto's surprise. "There's a reason why I woke you up so late. I forgot to mention this yesterday, but you will be mainly working later shifts. It works out too since it seems like you really needed that rest." He laughed as he eyed the sleep lines that intersected Naruto's groggy face.

Naruto quickly washed up and changed into the uniform that he had just received the night before. Naruto looked absolutely striking in the uniform. It was made up of a white collared shirt, gloves, a black vest, and a black blazer, with a line of gilded buttons on the blazer to tie it all together. And of course, matching black slacks and shoes. Naruto had one less thing to worry about when he was given the uniform. He didn't know how he was expected to dress and much less had any clothing that could even begin to be suitable for this line of work.

Naruto was now ready for his first day to begin.

"Follow me," said Sai, and gestured with his head. Naruto followed him into the servant's tunnels.

These tunnels were built into the walls of the castle for easy travel of the royal attendants, servants, and maids, among others. They were also put in place for emergency evacuation. The tunnels ran all throughout the castle and among all stories, and let out at special doors along every hall of the castle.

"So what do you do here, Sai?" Naruto asked as they walked.

"I, like you, am a royal attendant. This is partly why I was put in charge to oversee your training. I look after a princess of the Haruno clan. Princess Sakura." Sai smiled.

"What is someone from the Haruno clan doing here with the Uchihas?" Naruto was puzzled.

Sai responded swiftly, "Their kingdom is facing foreign violence and an extreme amount of diplomatic pressure. King and Queen Haruno thought it best to relocate the princess for the time being. The Haruno clan does have a strong alliance with the Uchiha's, after all. She will only be at the castle for a short period of time until things calm down there."

Naruto nodded. "Who will I be looking after, then?"

Sai stopped in front of a door in the tunnel. It read "サスケ" on a sign above the door in withering characters. He pushed it open as they both stepped into the castle hall. Naruto was so surprised at how well Sai had memorized the entire tunnel system.

Directly across from them were two huge doors. They both walked up.

"You will be looking after the second son of King Fugaku Uchiha, Prince Sasuke Uchiha." Sai smiled once again. "Sorry I waited until now to tell you, but I didn't want you to worry about it too much." He knocked on the door twice, with a firm hand.

"Come in," said a serious voice from within the room. Naruto's body tensed.

"Alright, here we go. Don't forget the manners we went over." Sai warned Naruto. They had dedicated some time to discussing manners and appropriate actions that one needed to adapt to when working in the castle, especially when addressing nobility or royalty. While that topic had previously bored Naruto, he was suddenly very happy they had spent that time discussing it. Sai pushed the heavy doors open with two hands just enough for them both to slip into the room.

"Good afternoon Prince," said Sai. He and Naruto both bowed in sync. The room had a sweet aroma, with hints of something like vanilla. When Naruto's head lifted from the bow, he locked eyes with the prince. The prince's eyes flickered with red as he studied Naruto's face intently. Previous years of studying royalty in school came flooding back. The Uchiha clan was sometimes called the Red-Eyed clan by some, and now Naruto knew why.

"Is this my new attendant?" asked Prince Sasuke. The prince had a stern look on his face and beady black eyes. His pale skin directly contrasted with his midnight black hair, that which spiked in the back yet hung in sharp curtain bangs near the front. He had a slender build and was just about as tall as Naruto himself. He was dressed in an expensive silk kimono, in a navy blue color which further highlighted his light-toned skin.

Sai nodded.

"Yes, your Royal Highness. This is your new night attendant, Naruto Uzumaki". Sai gestured over to Naruto. "He will be taking care of your every need from now on."

"Heh. I hope you're more competent than the last idiot, Naruto." Sasuke grinned maliciously.

"You may go," Sasuke flicked the back of his hand towards Sai, signaling for him to leave. Sai nodded at Naruto and slipped out of the room just as fast as he came in. Naruto gulped.

"I actually have something urgent I need you to take care of," Sasuke broke the silence. He turned and walked across his room until reaching his closet. His enormous wardrobe was the size of 8 tatami mats. It was packed full of rich clothing of all textures and colors.

"I need you to clean up this mess," Sasuke said.

"What mess?" Naruto was puzzled. Everything was in perfect condition, all of his clothes were perfectly ironed and filed away.

Sasuke began ripping item to item from its place and tossing it nonchalantly behind his head and ultimately on the floor. He continued this for two more minutes before finally turning back around with a smug look on his face.

"That mess."

Naruto screamed internally.

"Yes, your Royal Highness". Naruto smiled warmly.

A/N: Short chapter, this one. There was a fanart I really wanted to add so y'all could see exactly what Sasuke looks like, but I couldn't find the original artist so it was better not to add it. I also wanted to clarify that this fanfic takes place somewhere around the 1800s-1900s and the kingdom features a weird mesh of Japanese and European culture. Anyways, I wanted you guys to note how snobby Sasuke was at the end of this chapter. I already feel so bad for Naruto lol. But it'll all get better soon enough.
