Y/N's Perspective
When someone wakes up from a nice nap, they typically expect to be in the place they fell asleep in.
Not me.
I woke up on the familiar grassy floor of the Macmillan Estate. I sat up slowly and rubbed my eyes, thinking that I was dreaming. I was not dreaming, unfortunately. I groaned, and looked at my surroundings. I didn't even have the chance to know who I was sent to Trial with. I spotted a generator nearby. I immediately jumped to start repairing it. Escape was the first thing on my mind. Well, that, and...
There's no one around.
And for some reason, I'm relieved.
I let out a quiet sigh, and focused completely on the generator. However, this focus forced a sense of tunnel vision on me. I wasn't paying enough attention to my surroundings. Before I knew it, my heart began to pound within my ears. Every fiber of my being was yelling at me to run. I left the generator and panicked, looking around to figure out where the Killer was. Without thinking, I ran in a direction I believed was the safest.
It was quite the opposite.
I was face to face with someone of similar stature and height. The difference between them and any other Survivor were three things.
1. They were wearing a mask. Not completely uncommon for Survivors, but they don't tend to do so.
2. They were covered in blood. Again, not completely uncommon, but this definitely wasn't their blood.
3. They were holding a knife. Survivors couldn't do that. At least, from what I knew.
In conclusion, fucking run.
And so I tried. I would've laughed at the absurdity of the situation had I not been within stabbing distance. Next thing I knew, they began to sprint after me.
Most Killers can't do that... except the Legion. Nice to know that my Dead By Daylight senses were still kicking in. Before I knew it, I felt a searing pain slash across my back. This cut felt deeper than when the Ghost Face slashed me before. I stifled a scream and kept running. However, when I looked behind me, my pursuer was gone. When it occurred to me that I was safe once more, I immediately went to the nearest area with a few stand-alone walls.
I leaned against the wall, putting pressure against the wound in attempts to slow the bleeding. After a few seconds, despite it feeling like minutes, I felt better than before. Although it still hurt like hell, I could run. I decided to work on the nearest generator, since there hadn't been one completed at all, as far as I was aware. I tried my best to stifle any unwanted grunts of pain, to no avail. After a minute or so, I completed the generator I was working on. A sense of calm and accomplishment filled me, but that was soon replaced with a severe sense of dread as I heard a scream ring out from somewhere within the Trial.
My immediate thought was to head to where the screaming came from, but I stopped myself, and decided that I should probably find someone to help with my cut. I searched around for a minute before running into a familiar face. And a good face to see at that.
"[That's one nasty cut.]"
Yui cracked a joke, while beckoning me to come over so that she could help me. While she was bandaging me up, I spoke.
"No kidding. They managed to catch me off guard while I was repairing a generator." I said sheepishly, a little ashamed that I was so-easily caught. Yui patted me on the shoulder after she was done.
"[Don't beat yourself up about it,]" She stood up straight, offering a hand for me to do the same. "[It happens to the best of us.]"
I took her hand and smiled.
"Thanks, Yui."
Yui nodded, then turned to (I assume) find the person who was placed onto the hook.
"[Go repair another generator. I'll take care of the one who was hooked,]" She paused before leaving. "[Be careful, Y/N]."
I had this thought to stop Yui and help with the unhooking process. But, I forced myself to go and find another generator. Once I found one, I set my whole goal on getting this repair done. In the distance, I heard another generator being finished off with repairs. A thought ran through my mind as my confidence in repairing this generator grew.
A Shared Goal.
I finished this generator and ran off to find another. Something in my mind told me that this was the last one I needed to do. That confidence I gained stayed as I spotted a generator. I jumped onto it and began to repair it.
Another scream rang out.
It came to mind that whoever was put onto that hook was never taken off of it. That scream was Yui's. My unease grew. There was still one other person within the Trial, so that was fine. I was fine.
And yet another scream rang out.
My hope disappeared. My mind automatically informed me that one person had died and the other two were placed onto hooks. I was the last person on their feet. The first thing I tried to do was head over to the nearest person who was hooked. I ran and saw Yui on the hook, enduring the pain. I gave a relieved sigh and ran over to save her. However, when she saw me, Yui shook her head. And that's when I saw claws forming around her.
The Entity was here. And Yui wasn't struggling to stop it. The claws stabbed through her torso, and her head fell. Her corpse was lifted into the air and brought to the sky. Tears pricked the corners of my eyes as I understood that the other Survivor who was on a hook had died as well.
I was alone. The last Survivor within the Trial.
The last Survivor within the Trial!
I ran off, listening for a subtle humming. If I was the last person alive, that meant that I still had a chance to get out. My hope wasn't completely drained quite yet. After about two minutes of running, a hum caught my ear. I turned and spotted the hatch fairly far away.
And they were standing directly on top of it. I finally recognized which individual of the Legion I was facing.
Susie.
I collapsed to my knees, completely devoid of options. I felt like I was on the verge of a breakdown. Only two days within this god-forsaken realm, and I'm already about to lose my mind. I was so absorbed within my own sorrows that I failed to notice that Susie had approached me. She stood in front of me without a word.
Then, the most unexpected thing happened.
"...Go."
Her voice was quiet. Sincere. Guilty. She almost seemed nervous about this choice. I looked up at her and noticed that her hands were shaking.
"Go. I won't say it again. You need to go."
I hesitated. Was it really that easy?
Even then, I rose to my feet and sprinted to the hatch. When I got there, I turned and saw Susie standing there, her hands behind her. I paused and spoke quietly.
"Thank you."
I wasn't sure if she even heard me.
I jumped into the darkness.
Moments after Y/N escaped...
"...'Thank you'?"
I stared at the knife in my hands.
"...How strange."
